We Are All Witnesses

We are all witnesses to LeBron finally playing like an MVP from start to finish (or till he was finished).

We are all witnesses to the Celtics flipping the switch in the wrong direction once they got down.

We are all witnesses to the worst home playoff loss in franchise history.

I just came back from this game and I will just say this

I’m not going to another Celtics home game until the team is rebuilt. I’m not going to risk going to a game with the supposed “Big Three” and the Celtics failing miserably at showing effort whatsoever.

I’m done.

Cavs in 6.

Very disappointing and disheartening loss.

The team defense that was so good in the Miami series and in the 2 games in Cleveland was no place to be found tonight which is inexcusable for such a important playoff game.
The offense in this game also looked very confused and as if it was stuck in mud.

I said leaving Cleveland that the C’s had to protect home court which they did not tonight in any way.
The C’s played this game with a lackadaisical style as if it was not a big important playoff game…which it was.

Its time to go back to the drawing board and the C’s must look in the mirror and see how much they want this series.
They still of course are in this series down only 2 to 1 but they have made winning it a lot harder after losing game 3 tonight.

Now game 4 is a for the C’s a mega must win game.

Nobody’s beating Orlando

by jurrasicearl on May 7, 2010 10:30 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Orlando has yet to be tested. Charlotte was child's play. And the Hawks have no heart.

If the Cavs advance (i think they will in 7 games), the will beat Orlando.

Oh come on, they let Milwaukee (a team with no big real man because Bogut went down) take them to seven games

OF COURSE they’re going to be dominated by Dwight Howard in the middle. They can’t answer that, they’re seriously outmatched.

The last thing we should have done after winning home-court advantage vs the Cavs...

Is to give it right back to them; especially in another blowout game. Sad to say it but after tonight’s loss our season clearly hangs in the balance. We have two must win games coming up seeing as we have to win at least 1 home game and another in Cleveland again if we want to have any chance of advancing. If we lose our next home game we play elimination-games for the rest of the series. Sad, but – expected more heart from a team that has the capavility of beating all of the remaining playoff teams on any given night when playing well. Hopefully we can still turn this series around…

by Witch-King on May 7, 2010 10:33 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Yea the team should of played with more heart tonight for sure...

This was not the regular season where the C’s could coast…we are playing for all the beans right now and they should showed much more of a sense of urgency tonight which they did not.

We desperately Need the Captain

I still believe because its THE CELTICS.. you guys should remember that this season we are a better road team than a home team. We can win this but we extremely need Paul Pierce he needs to step up. Where is the heart? This is a team that is all HEART and we win that way. We need to bring back THE HEART OF A CHAMPION. Paul Pierce has to be our MVP like he was supposed to be. I still believe in THE Captain and THE CELTICS, we are a great team. I hope this game will be a realization that the road is never going to be easy. Let’s go Celtics. CAPTAIN hopefully doesn’t get intimidated by Lebron. I he can do better I just hope he knows that. We can still win this. BELIEVE! GO CELTICS. hey and rondo is still playing well.

I watched the 8min and watched the refs call foul after foul after. They not even hiding it..they took the celtics out the game early with foul trouble then sat back watched the celtics play tentative in order to stay in the game.

That was some screwed up officiating and im sorry to have seen it that bad.

back to the old ways....

going 27-27 after christmas seems justified tonight. no heart, no guts,
tells you the story of the entire season. you’re looking at a chameleon,
two-face, jeckyll and hyde, whatever you want to call them.
again, this is not an issue of age. this is all about effort, heart and a
sense of urgency.
again, why not recreate what went right the 1st 2 games?
for me, it’s like taking the same exam over and over and giving
different answers, even if you know the correct ones.
unbelievable, and i’ve heard common sense is a very overrated word….

guess what? wham!!!! they got home court back…

I tuned in when it was already in the third quarter and I was dumbfounded by the score. 90-65 and LeBron already has 35 points.

Come on BS...

Ive seen my share of screwy officiating but you mean tell me that at the start of the game how Lebron hacked Perkins trying to block his shot with no whistle then turn around and call that ticky tack foul on Sheed guarding Side show Bob?

The home team usually gets home cooking from the refs which make what i saw even more faulty.

10 Ft’s the Cavs took when i turned the tv. It wasnt like they were all slashing to the basket. Then i turn back and Pierce blocks A.J.’s shot he falls as if he was murdered and KG was charged with a foul! Yall can talk about the Celtics lack of intensity..and lack of defense..but i know what i saw and im sure millions of other people who shook their heads as if to say “Here we go with the officials inserting their will in the game early”

Making a mental note of those of you who want to tag the officiating with a loss on a night when this club’s effort was totally insufficient and embarrassing on both ends of the floor.

Quit making excuses. This club was historically bad tonight – no effort, no focus, no intelligence on either end of the floor.

The whining about officiating is growing to Real GM levels on this board.

by CoachBo on May 7, 2010 11:12 PM EDT reply actions   1 recs

This is the worst playoff loss I've ever seen. It's downright

embarrissing. I’ve watched Hondo and Russell, Bird and McHale, and a couple of years ago I remember Pierce and Garnett. WTF? Seriously, at the end of the playoffs, if these guys don’t want to wear Celtic green and play with at least a little bit of pride – let them go.

And as for the officiating, I’m used to seeing this for the Lakers, not CLE. But I guess we all know what Stern wants. That $%$#%$$$!

The Lakers have issues with effort too,

but they’ve got three 7 footers on the front line if Jackson ever figures out how to use them.
The title is pretty much the Lakers to lose. Oh, and at some point Fisher would flatten LeBron, unintentionally of course.

Well if that good they should be able to win it wthout the help of the refs. Even game 2 was one sided as far as officiating was concerned. It was Boston’s great shooting that won that game. Over the course of a 7 game series, that work once or twice.

by mdowell04 on May 8, 2010 12:48 AM EDT reply actions

Man...again...this is SO sad.

I think just about every time I’ve come on here after a Celtics loss, half of the comments blame officiating and the refs “having it in” for the Celtics by “giving” Cleveland the win. Why can you not accept that you were beaten? Some fans here…I applaud you..you see it as it truly was…simply a Celtics lost, not some NBA conspiracy against the C’s. The Celts were called for fewer personal fouls than the Cavs, while shooting…wait..how many?! A whopping 5 fewer free throws than the Cavs that game!!! But hey..those five points could’ve made the difference. I’m sick of fans blaiming the refs because they can’t accept that their team lost (to a very good team at that).

Perkins

WTF is wrong with Perkins? I knew the game was over as soon as he got hit with that T.
Perk gives 100% and may be hurting physically but he should realize the Celtics rebounding and D are both sh*tty without him in the middle. Glen Davis gets in position for rebounds but lacks the vertical lift he’s just too short to battle with players at least 3 inches taller. Sheed is just a waste of time and $$$ he can score down low but he keeps throwing up those 3pt shots and his % is terrible and Sheed destroys them with all the T’s just like Perk. It’s tough to rebound or play D from the bench. The last thing they need is to P.O. the refs with the constant WA WA WA and because of it they get the majority of the close calls go in the opponents favor .
I still go to the games through the good times and bad times the people that bail during the bad times are not true fans they just ride the bandwagon when things are going good…
Nate Robinson pulling that 3 finger pose is ridiculous. If Red Auerbach were alive he would ship Nate the hot dog out as soon as possible. You don’t showboat after hitting a 3 while your team is being embarrassed.

by Celtics9Lakers2 on May 8, 2010 4:48 AM EDT reply actions

NBA integrity and LeBron Great

LeBron certainly played well. HIs jump shot was falling. However, since the Celtics attmepted to win without playing defense of any sort while not putting any effort into their offense and with no visible effort by the coachiing staff to change things I am not sure how great LeBron was.
I think the fine on Ainge was ridiculous. I also thought it was ridiculous for LeBron (he of the famous crab travel, sorry LeBron it is not a dribble) to be crying about not getting his way while charging into Nate Robinson and then having the officials change the call to suit the enabled one. I think LeBron and Kenny Mauer should both be fined for that act.

by colt45s on May 8, 2010 8:40 AM EDT reply actions

PP

PP can definitely guard Lebron. Remember how well he did in 6 of 7 games in 2008. The one he didn’t do good in, he scored almost as many as Lebron but had a far better game because he took less shots and setup more teamates and whatnot where Lebron took a hell of a lot more shots to score 7 more points.

I also think Lebron is nothing as long as the refs don’t make him untouchable, which they most certainly do. And his jump shot only falls maybe one game in twenty, even the refs can’t give him a jump shot.

It’s not over yet.
