Tom Thibodeau leaving? It's a split feeling.

The average Celtic fan may not know who Tom Thibodeau is. I'm sure anyone reading this article knows and appreciates everything he contributes. Tom drives the defense from courtside and without someone as good as him, The Celtics would likely be on vacation right about now.

Tom Thibodeau possesses high levels defensive of knowledge. Seeing him leave could be as devastating as Doc leaving. The Celtics are a team that wins on the largest stages, and defense is what fuels those wins. Tom facilitates the defense, and creates something to thrive off of when the offense runs stagnant, which tends to happen often in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Regardless of what happens in the NBA Finals, Thibs appears to be leaving for a head coaching job (likely in New Orleans), and the Celtics are going to be back at the drawing board. With Rivers and Thibodeau possibly leaving, this offseason could be a busy one.

As much as you want Thibodeau to stay, you just can't help but feel good for him. He deserves the chance to shine as much as any other NBA coach, and he's capable of reaching the highest goals this league has to offer. He could work well with Chris Paul, who resembles Rondo in many aspects as well. If he decides to leave we all will miss Tom, but as for now, I'm going to cling onto the hope of him sticking around.
