Losing Bynum to injury is no reason to discredit the Celtics.

After yesterday's game, I've heard many Celts fans say "I wish Bynum wasn't hurt so we can beat the Lakers at full strength." Personally, I do not think we should take anything away from what the Celtics are doing because Bynum is hurt. If anything, the Lakers should have been well prepared for this considering it was an issue dating back to 2008. The fact they do not have any length to backup Bynum shows a weakness in Lakers management. With the Lakers knowingly aware that Bynum's knee was a reason for concern going into this season, the Lakers should have supplemented the 5 spot with height in the event Bynum went down again. The Big 3 recruited 'Sheed to provide backup length for Perk and KG. Why did the Lakers not try to do the same?

If anything, Bynum's injury just gives Celtics fans all the reason more to gloat about the Celts. Obviously, Celtic's management was a step ahead of Laker's management, knowing they needed to solidify all positions in order to be a champion. Losing a player to injury is part of the game. It's how well the team is prepared to deal with such is what defines a championship team versus a great team.
