Death of the Pink-Hats?!?
I don't post much be here's my thoughts. I don't care what happens tonight! Why, you ask. I'll tell you why. It's because i'm a true Celtics fan, that's why. The decline of the original Big 3 didn't make me leave this team during the bad years and the recently constructed Big 3 didn't bring me back. I never left, I never will. I'm in a minority, but not alone.
True fans mourned Reggie Lewis, thought Dee Brown was gonna be the next great Celtic, cried when we missed out on Tim Duncan, and cried again when we lost our shot at Kevin Durant. We can tell you about the historic playoff comeback vs. the Nets, dance the Walker Wiggle, and practiced the Sherman Douglas floater at the playground. We remained loyal followers through the eras of Wilkins, Fox, Mercer, Radja, Walker, Montross, Battie and Bagley. We thought Jefferson, Telfair, & Green would lead us to the promise land one day.
We maintain that our beloved franchise is richer in history than any other sports franchise in the world. We are Gaurdians of Celtic mystique, who accepted the "conditional" fans and pink hats during this amazing stretch the past three years. But who will love this team when the final buzzer sounds tonight? In victory or defeat? Who left this team mid-season when things wernt going well? Who came back last month?
This goes out to those who are true fans of the Green, enjoy this moment were in. I spent my childhood at the park playing with my friend imagining it's game 7 of the finals vs. the Lakers, watching video from the 60's & 80's and dreaming to experience this as an adult.
Now here we are, the final round of an epic battle where everything is on the line!!! To the "pseudo-fans" I'll see you next time there's a Celtics bandwagon. To the true fans who share the same passion, I say it's been a great run, and I'll be with y'all till the very end. Now let's go get this banner!!! Beat LA
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I too have been and will be in it for the long haul. Some long winters and dark years… but still there. Great post. I agree with everything you said…except I never thought Telfair, Green and Jefferson would lead us anywhere but back to a lottery pick!
I will admit that I thought Jiri Welsh was going to have a solid career so what do I know.
Lets get it baby!
