Celtics offseason starts with Tyson chandler

Celtics offseason starts with tyson chandler

Star-divide

Get rid of sheed and his contract and ray allens . Go for rudy gay and tyson chandler ! with 19th pick take og/pg bradely freshman from texas 6-3 . Youd then have quite a team perk/chandler at center / big baby / garnett pf / pierce/ rudy sf / bradley / t allen og / avery / rondo pg . I believe if danny could pull this off it would make us extremely competeive against any nba team next year and even more fun to watch .

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Go for Iguadola instead

I like Chandler, but I think Iggy would be a better fit if we could get him. Not as much of a diva, more physical defender and rebounder, alot more assists (team player) doesn’t rely on jump shot as much so we can get to the line some more.

What's the point of getting younger at center

If the guy you bring in is more injury prone than an 60 year old. A trade for him was annulled because his feet were in such bad shape. Tyson Chandler is a tentative and often confused player who can’t stay on the court. His only decent year was when he became the designated alley oop finisher for Chris Paul and then he couldn’t even keep that up.

Also, we have no cap space. The Celtics are not signing anyone for anything the MLE. Rudy Gay isn’t happening.

How come the when it comes to the Celtics, we have no cap space, but look at the Fakers, they seem to get the players they want..i.e the Gasol Gift, Ron Artest and now quite possibly, Tracy Mcgrady....OUCH!!

"No I’m not KG. Not at all, but I’m Big Baby Glen Davis from LSU, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’m not the Big Ticket. I’m the Ticket Stub. Don’t count the Ticket Stub out. You might need the ticket to get in the game, but you leave with the ticket stub, because you’ll never forget this game."

Artest was the MLE

Just as Sheed was. Gasol was a lopsided trade for expiring contracts, just as Garnett was. They have the MLE next year for McGrady or whoever, just as we do.

I’ve seen everything from ESPN to the Refs called biased on this site, now are you calling the salary cap pro-Lakers?

I like Chandler, The guy has got length, something we'll need against the Howard's and the twin towers of LA

Rondo loves the alley hoop gets 5 assists a game from it

hes a pure point guard who loves the alley hoop in his arsenal to break the other team . Chandler is 7-1 and gets as much length on his defensive rebounds post moves blocks and alley hoops as any one not named dwight howard or pao gasol or andrew bynum . Isnt that why we lost to la and almost lost to orlando ? As for rudy hed be great with rondo too running the floor theres no more talented sf running the floor not named lebron in the nba ! as for cap space wouldnt sheeds contract and ray allens clear that out ?! didnt res grosback on weei a month ago say they could alter the contracts to get a max contract never mind enough for these 2 great pieces . As for chandlers feet the doctors say hes healed hes only 28 . The wonders the doctors can do with athletes was unheard of even 10-20 years ago .

Salary cap for next season is projected at 56.1 million

If we don’t sign Ray Allen and Sheed’s retirement completely erases his contract (which is unlikely. More likely he gets bought out), the Celtics would have 57 million in salary for 5 players. They can add 5.6 million in MLE contracts, resign their own players, add drafted players, and add minimum guys, that’s it.

They are not signing a max level free agent like Rudy Gay. I don’t know which of the five players under contract you’re expecting to trade for Tyson Chandler but whoever it is, it won’t be a good deal.

Agree on Chandler, not on what Wyc said

I agree 100% that Tyson Chandler would directly address the most pressing need of this team which is a legit backup center who can rebound and block shots. Frankly, I would be happy of we could just make that one move, keep the starting 5 intact, then filler for the rest of the roster.

What Wyc said was that there is a scenario in which we bring in another max player, but he said this without saying he would also be able to keep Ray Allen (this was just before the trade deadline), so basically he prolly meant trade Ray at the deadline for another max contract.

Id trade big baby

straight up for chandler , id trade ray allen straight up for al jefferson , and get someone to run with rondo for sheed . If rudy is to pricey dont fault me for trying .

Rudy is only a little less certain to get a max deal than Lebron, Wade, and Co.

Baby for chandler is not close to matching salaries. Baby is due about 6 mil, Chandler is due about 13 million. Ray Allen is not under contract so would require a sign and trade. There is no way Ray Allen will be given a 13 million dollar contract. It is unlikely the T Wolves would want him at 6 million, nonetheless 13. And the trading of retiring Sheed for some indeterminate athletic young player is also extremely unlikely.

I know you’re trying to make the team better but just closing your eyes and wishing doesn’t make impossible things possible.

Yes...

It would be nice if the C’s could trade Baby for Chandler if it could be done.

I've been thinking about Chandler

Ever since he mentioned that he may opt out of his current contract. He would help with out rebounding problems.
