So if Ray leaves and signs with a team like the Knicks and Pierce opts out and signs with a team like say the Clippers, that leaves Garnett, Rondo, Baby and Perk on the roster with Rasheed hopefully retiring.  That puts the Celts at $36m and leaves them enough cap room to sign a max contract player.  They could legitimately make a max contract offer to LeBron.  Would that situation with LeBron, KG, Perk, Rondo and whoever else they sign to play the 2 give LeBron a better shot at a title next year than it would staying in Cleveland?  I think it does as Rondo is much better than Mo Williams and KG ate up Jamison in the playoffs this year.  They would not have a lot of money left to sign bench players but they could draft a 2 guard at #19 in the draft Thursday night.  I don't know that going to the C's would be a better situation than pairing up with Wade in Miami or going to play in Chicago with the good young players they have there but it would make the Celts the favorites to win the East again next season....
