Realistic views this offseason

i stumbled across this little thing early today and was just thinking of all these players in the green and white.

i personally would love to see us get rudy gay and maybe Rudy Fernandez. The Celtics have to make a big splash this offseason and show the league that this last final run was no joke and were the real deal

also some not so known big named players such as J.J. Redick who the celtics were going to draft but they passed because of his crash and drunk driving. Or  maybe josh howard who can always bring a spark but was hurt this year?

DAVID LEE!

If we got David Lee I’d have to change my pants in a good way. I know he’s not the sexy pick here, but MAN I love this kid’s game. Hey, why not continue to capitalize on what the Knicks can’t understand about basketball. David Lee is one of the best big men in basketball…and 3 years ago, I would have laughed at the person who said that. Now, I’m the one saying it.

David Lee IS a great player...

But he’s not a secret anymore.

His contract is up this year, and the C’s would have to get under the salary cap in a major way to sign him. They could do a sign-and-trade, but I don’t think the Knicks would be interested in anything the Celtics have to offer…

On the other hand, it IS the Knicks….

My suspicion about Lee is that he’ll sign after the big name FA’s sign. After teams find out that they’re not going to get LeBron or Chris Bosh, or Dwayne Wade, then they’ll use their salary cap space to go after guys like Lee. In this regard, the Knicks have an advantage in keeping him because they can offer him more money than anyone else…

CELTICS!!!

I wouldnt mind seeing rudy gay i think he is the better player but i think David Lee would be the best fit becuz our need for bigs.

how is joe johnson, david lee a reasonable off season move? no way either of those two come to boston…with out being traded here. an as much as i like both i’m not sure lee would be a good fit here. and joe johnson wouldnt be traded for anyone on this roster unless its a package of rondo, perk, ta, davis. and the 19th pick (that equals about the max contract)

Mike Miller, Amir Johnson and Ray Allen

I don’t think we’ll have the money for David Lee who will be asking for an annual salary in excess of $10 million. The FAs to go after are Mike Miller who is a very good shooter, passer and overall plus/minus guy and Amir Johnson, a 6’11 F/C with lots of upside. Johnson could probably play alongside KG right now- especially if KG comes back rested and ready to go. I don’t think we could get both Miller and Johnson without parting with Perk though: Perk to WAS for Miller (S&T), sign Johnson with the MLE or part of it, resign Ray etc.
