If the Cap signs for $10 million/year for 6-7 yrs., Boston will have $10 mil. available in the light of Sheed's retirement.
Paul then gets back the $11 mil. he coughs-up this year on that final year (2016 or 2017), when he's already aged & barely playing yet will still get paid $10 mil.
The question then is - will LeBron do a "Danny Manning" gig?
Back in '93, 30 year old Manning signed with Sir Charles' Suns (the 2nd best team not so far from the Bulls) for $1 million/1 year just to win it all since he was already in the NBA for 7 years with no rings.
Too bad, teammate Joe Kleine (a former Celtic) accidentally injured Manning during practice thereby taking Danny out for the rest of the season GREATLY decreasing the Suns chance to beat MJ & the Bulls.
In today's dollar value, LBJ signing with Boston for a $10 mil./1 year deal will be similar to Manning's gig.
If that happens, our only hope is that LBJ don't get injured like how Manning did.
And if things turns-out well with Boston winning it all next year against LA, then LBJ might sign for the long haul.
Ahh, such wishful thinking but hopefully, it comes true!
