"On Kevin’s part, he’s also lost some explosiveness,’’ said Gasol. "He’s more of a jump shooter now, you could say . . . time passes and we all suffer it one way or another.’’

Hopefully

But Gasol is right. I don’t see what the big deal is with that statement. It’s obvious.

The big deal is...

You don’t give the opposing team ANY extra motivation to come at you. Yes it’s the finals and the teams are already extremely motivated, but giving any team, especially these Celtics, extra inspiration is just dumb. Loved Rondo’s response to this…started smiling and said: “I just can’t wait — I didn’t know he said that, but I’ll be excited to see how it goes in Game 2. You know, Kevin is fine. It’s just one game. We’ll see in Game 2. We’ll see in Game 2.”

Kevin mano y mano?

I hope Kevin does try to prove a point. It will help the Lakers because Boston hangs it’s hat on team play, not individuals trying to prove a point. It really shows how desparate Boston is when they try to make something out of nothing to try and motivate themselves to be confident.

Who cares!!! My boyfriend thinks the same with me. He- is eight years older than me, lol. We met online at an age gap dating sitewww. A G E R O M A N C E com—-a nice and free place for Younger- Women and Older Men, or Older Women and Younger Men, to interact with each other. Maybe you wanna check out or- tell your friends

Well, your boy friend must love Gasol then. He’s so young.

KG hasn’t aged THAT fast. He’s not a year out from his knee surgery. And his jump shooting helps pull his defender out of the paint so our guards can drive — which fits into our offense.

He’s not 100% and he’s being asked to do different things. And yeah, KG was definitely out of sorts on Thursday. Let’s bear with him and watch for the adjustments in game 2.

Not just talkin about this statement

But anybody else think gasol is really cocky now

by farias on Jun 5, 2010 10:42 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

I would be cocky...

… if I had Kobe Bryant in my team.

by AlexC on Jun 5, 2010 10:54 AM EDT up reply actions

24 pts/14 rebounds

Got as many boards as the entire C’s front line

Wow...

Thats exactly what KG needed to come out like a man possessed in Game 2. I look for KG to do whatever it takes to get the job done, even if it means cutting off an arm to do it..

I believe in KG’s heart so much that i actually already pity Gasol…

Boy, am I glad...

we got that game out of the way early! Now we will show up and Prove why we are in the finals! The Lakers are a good team, Kobe is a terrific player, Pau’s game has grown immensely since 2008. However, our team has improved also and we have the better team play, bench and Defense! Thib and Doc will figure out how to deal with the length of the Lakers…they is the best, and we will be fine. Go Celts!! UBUNTU

“They are the best” lol

The real concern is...

Gasol is not known for making dumb statements to the media, and he has made no attempt to “clarify” his remark.

He played KG throughout Game 1, saw what he did/did not have, and dominated him.
He feels confident enough to make this comment.

Actually Gasol tends to make some dum statements,

anyone recall what he said about slant eyes and Chinese during the Olympics? Then the entire team possed while pulling on their eyelids.

That’s alot of class right there.
