Celtics center Kendrick Perkins underwent successful surgery Monday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
The Celtics did not disclose a timetable for his return, but Perkins suggested he would be sidelined for five to six months after the procedure, which would peg his return at sometime in January or February of 2011.

We need you Perk
The team needs a healthy Perk after the AllStar Break, and Perk will deliver. He always does.

Don't rush it, Kendrick.
If you’re able to contribute at playoff time, that’d be fine.
Perk let us down in Game 7 vs. LA
He didn’t grab a rebound, score a point or block a shot. I want guys who show up every night! :)
Yeah Perk, get well soon!
The streak continues. I'm still waiting to hear a doctor say that a surgery went unsucessfully.
The closest I’ve heard is when they say “there were unexpected complications.”
Not a medical professional...
…but it makes you wonder why they waited all this time. It’s been what, 3-4 weeks?
Swelling
Docs want the swelling to subside before the surgery, also wanted to do some muscle strengthening to make the post surgery rehab go better

I waited 6 weeks for my ACL surgery
allows for swelling around the knee to subside and additional time to strengthen the leg muscles around the knee so you don’t need to build them back as dramatically post surgery.
you’d be amazed how quickly your leg turns into a twig.

Perk hadn't been the same since the all-star break last season
It was clear that the knee had been giving him trouble for a while. Take your time Perk, we need you at full strength. While your at it, make sure the shoulder is in good shape,.
Would have been nice to have him rebounding
in the first half of game 7 though. Maybe could have built a 25+ pt lead :)
Get well Perk!

does this mean...
it was ONLY the ACL? That bodes well as for perk as opposed to a complete blowout of the PCL, MCL and ACL.
