Top 10 teams going into the season

1. Lakers- They have won the title two years in a row and have only gotten better with Barnes and Steve Blake.

2. Heat- They have the best three in the league and their bench players are great starting with Mike Miller.

3. Celtics- They retained the Big Three and Rondo only looks to be getting better.

4. Magic- They added "Q" Richardson and kept J.J. Redick. Their only issue is losing Barnes.

5. Bulls- They have added Boozer and a couple of other people and D-Rose is getting better.

6. Suns- They lost Amare but also got Childress, Hedo and Warrick.

7. Thunder- After losing to the Lakers, they are only that more experienced. They also added Aldrich.

8. Mavericks- They picked up Tyson Chandler in a trade. They can only hope his health is not a problem.

9. Bucks- They added Maggette and other good role players. Andrew Bogut will hopefully comeback from injury.

10. (Your Choice)

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

the Suns and Thunder?

Should not be in the top ten. If THEY crack the top ten it would be at the ten spot. The Thunder did have a good season last year, but they had the 8th seed last year in the West, and they did give the Lakers a hard time, but it’s hard to put them so high. People are in love with Durant, and they should be. They still have a long ways to go. They have great young talent. The Suns didn’t get any better. They got worst. Hedo? Josh? Josh may have more up side then Hedo. They don’t have a good enough front line to go past the first round next year.

I will say though

Your top 5 is perfect I would say.The Bulls maybe not there, but I think at the end you are right.

Why no love for the Thunder???

Yes they are the 8th seed last yr but that was from a stacked Western conference… and they are the only team apart from us that gave the Lakers any competition in the playoffs so yeah. I believe the Thunder will surprise everyone in the West and I also think they are the only ones out West that have a legitimate chance of dethroning the Fakers…Durant and Westbrook will Breakout this yr further believe me….I can even say this without blinking an eyelash.. I would swap the Thunder’s lineup with our Celtics anyday. Their future is so much more brighter than ours.

"No I’m not KG. Not at all, but I’m Big Baby Glen Davis from LSU, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’m not the Big Ticket. I’m the Ticket Stub. Don’t count the Ticket Stub out. You might need the ticket to get in the game, but you leave with the ticket stub, because you’ll never forget this game."

We are the now,and they are the future

We are a title contender, and they are a team with a future. What kind of future? Durant is going to be a top 5 player, but to say he will for sure win a title is hard to say yet. I would take are line up knowing we still have a chance for a title. We have Rondo to build around once the Big 3 part ways. The Thunder still have much to prove. They did a great job last year. They are still a young team. It’s hard to say what your going to get this coming year. Just look at the Hornets from 08? They win 56 games, and they go to game 7 in the 2nd round. Then the past two years they are hit with injuries, and a coaching change. You have too many other teams who have been there and done that in the west. The Mavs, and Jazz,Nuggets,Blazers,Rockets, and look who knows how good the Hornets will be with a Healthy Paul, and his team healthy. These other teams will be above the Thunder. It’s easy to fall in love with the Thunder, but they again have much to prove.

WOW

The Thunder had the same record as the Celtics last year (50-32). The Wester Conference is only getting worse this year, plus Carmelo might leave so that would make it even worse. Stop with the Utah stuff. They are not a Top 10 team.

My top 10 would be....

Celtics…. big 3 back together and Rondo improving every season
Lakers…. core still together and signing of Barnes and Blake
Heat….. Wade, James, Bosh, along with other signings should put them atop of East
Magic…. still one of the top teams of the East
Jazz…. losing Boozer but adding Jefferson and Bell should make them a threat in the West
Bulls…. Rose is still getting better and adding Boozer helps them down low
Spurs…. age is a problem, but they are still a championship contender until they lose Timmy
Hawks… signing Joe Johnson back and adding experience from last year
Rockets…. missing Yao for the whole season he should come back to give them a lift along with K. Mart and Brad Miller should help them more

This is not really in no particular order but I don’t think Thunder or Suns should be top 10 like green20 mention above.

I forgot Mavericks

I only have 9 there so I think they should been on the list so sorry for leaving them out.

by illestmcsgt on Jul 26, 2010 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions

I still can't believe you left out Jazz

Jefferson, Williams, Bell, Okur, Millsap, and Kirilenko should be a good rotation I think once they gell together they could be a dangerous team out West.

Also why are people not expecting Rockets to be any good? K.Mart is a better version of T-Mac and with another season with Yao they should be making the playoffs.

simple

heat against celtics, who ever wins play lakers in the finals. right?

by celtsfan1 on Jul 26, 2010 3:38 PM EDT reply actions

YEAH MORE THAN LIKELY

I do hope a team out west can really challenge for the West. You have a few teams that have a chance. The Rockets seem like a solid team. With Yao coming back. It’s hard to say how good he will be after the injury. They have Kevin Martin for a full season, and they added a big man in Brad Miller. They don’t have a great point guard. That’s the weakness maybe? This team maybe better than the T-MAC and YAO COMBO. Then you have the Nuggets getting there coach back, and also adding some talent to the team with Al coming to the team. I think a sleeper for this team. Portland getting healthy too will be better you would think. Dallas adding some guys. The Spurs really not losing anything adding some guys. The Had injuries last season too. Tony Parker, and Manu banged up again. Who knows if these guys stay healthy what they can do.The past two years the Spurs not really getting it on like many would think. This year they did alright making it to the 2nd round. The Suns might not make the playoffs
