Rudy fernandez, Shane battier, Shaq

RUDY FERNANDEZ

the celtics should trade maybe daniels for fernandez

idk about tha contracts and money matchup sooo.. dont comment on dat plz

they both are 6'6 the diff is rudy is a better shooter and scorer than daniels we dont need daniels to play tha 1 2 or 3 cause we wasnt to much of an impact player n players sluffd off on him on defense becuz of his lack of outside shooting. rudy would be a great force next to nate and is a quit thief on defense dont sleep on him

SHANE BATTIER

Trading rasheeds contract to houston for shane battier would solve our small forward issues that we havent addressed since posey left

shane is still a great defender not as good as he was but still very effective andin our celtics system of team defense he would thrive compared to houston defense

shane is a solid 6'8 and  can guard tha lebrons and kobes  and make them uncomfortable on tha offensive end  and can also give paul pierce a rest ...plus he can stretch out defenses with his outside shooting

SHAQ

shaq would giive us low post night in and out.. alot of celtcs fans think he done but hes not ...he lookd done against us cause of perk comon its pern but now they would be team mates shaq is still a force maybe not a 20pt 15rb player any more but a 10pt 8rb would be great for us till perk get back and is able to play sold minutes

Battier would only be OUT OF HOUSTON COME....

Trade-deadline time…

Battier would have to express his dislike for Houston’s Productivity and say he will not be signing an extension come summer….

Then Houston would be forced to trade Battier for something in return… which Boston could then jump in and offer something like a 2013 or 2012 1st rounder and/or Bradley plus Sheed’s contract….

But in the off-season now…. Battier’s contract is expiring after next season… and it makes no sense for Houston to trade for Sheed’s contract when they already have an expiring contract in Battier.

Nooooooooo.

Daniels is a much better defender, and has a bigger/longer frame, allowing him to play the SF position more naturally. Last years performance aside, he is also much better at getting to the rim reliably the Rudy is.

Rudy obviously has better range on his shot. Which is why they should complement each other well, Rudy creates match up problems with his size at the 2.

Not to mention

Daniels cannot be traded until 12/15 due to the rules of the CBA. I know the author of the thread stated he didn’t care about that, but unfortunately that is the rules of the league.

I'd really like to give Bradley a chance.

To shine before we just give him away. People think off the bat that #19 picks aren’t anything special, but remember, this year a lot of teams were looking for bigs. If you look at it from a position standpoint, Bradley was the 5th guard drafted and 3rd SG overall, which is really good. With all his hype out of high school I’m sure that Bradley would’ve been chosen a lot higher were it not for teams picking for their weak big spots. I think Bradley at 19 was a steal and if given the chance, will really make a name for himself around here ala Rondo. After all, playing on the same team with an NBA coach of the year and so many future hall-of-famers can’t hurt right?

you'd like to give him a chnace huh

hmmm how about we trade bradley for someone we KNOW CAN SCORE NOW the celts cant wait any longer for ifs, ands or buts,we need more scoring now i kno nate can but with rudy no one has a better bench LETS THING RING! NOT ROOKIES !

Is why any of these teams would make these trades. Houston has already expressed no desire to move Battier, they think their a contender right now, and want to see if they can test LA this year out of the west and see how far into the post season they can go.

Now obviously if Yao doesn’t stay healthy, that all changes, so maybe something happens at the trade deadline. But there is 0 chance of him being traded now.

Shaq I’m ok with, but if he wont take the minimum and a reduced role, then absolutely not. Rudy is not comparable to Daniels, if you lose Daniels, you lose all ability to spell Paul Pierce any minutes. Rudy cannot guard strong, athletic SFs, his defense is average, at very best. With TA gone, Daniels is a necessary piece for that bench, unless you bring in a guy like Battier (not going to happen) you simply cannot lose him.

Get Rudy and shaq

Trade Glen Davis for Rudy use sheed’s contract in a sign and trade with cleveland for shaq for one year or two years with team option for year two.

no WAY trading Baby for Rudy......

Rudy couldn’t lock down his living room WINDOW….. (nevermind NBA 2 guards) on defense…..and you’re talking about giving up our SAVIOR of the 2008 playoffs ( standing in for KG while he was injured)???!!!! That’s why Danny wont trade baby that easily…. these guys you’re talking about ( other than Battier) doesn’t have 1/2 the HEART & will to " get it done" round the rim ( or the team D)…. baby gets it… which makes him WAY too valuable to give up for a 1 dimensional guy like Rudy……and truth be told……i’d rather trade DANIELS/Sheed’s contract for Okafor (with the documented KNEE problems he has….young or not)…..much rather than baby…..and N.O would STILL do that deal to dump his salary….

either way if we cant get battier data suck but we need a legit sf for pierce wit size
shaq we all kno we would like him betta than sheed he would bring more

any idea to replace battier with?

by alimoethird on Jul 29, 2010 7:33 PM EDT reply actions

Replace Battier WITH..........................

Thaddeus Young & Maurice Speights from Philly………Philly has JUST as much a need to dump salary as Houston, and they have a TON of wing players (Iggy,Turner, Young,Wilie Green, etc) & Speights was one of the MOST efficient players in the NBA ( per minute of action)…..and Young is a long, athletic SF who CAN hit the 3 and marginally defend (and could be made BETTER in Doc’s system)…..a LOT more value & talent than Rudy Fernandez ( and garbage to make the #s work)….

well we signed von wafer.....

we cant be that interested in rudy fernandez…..or were and then backed off when they told us they needed multiple picks we bailed…..wafer isnt really proven, but he could end up being a great scorer in tandem with nate off the bench @ the 2 or 3,no desperate moves have been made by DA, because he really believes in this years rookies, we dont NEED to make any trades, maybe signing shaq or trading for him to get parker as well…..but really this team is solid and if we assume that the rookies are going to have an impact……then this team is DEEPER…..the one real concern i have is we dont really have a finisher @ the rim outside of rondo…..toy allen WAS that guy who could finish with nasty dunks in traffic….but who now ???? pierce just relies on his contact midrange game…..allen will only drive if hes given a huge lane……garnett has a mostly pass first midrange game…..im hoping daniels can assume a bigger roll this year and stay healthy cuz when hes healthy hes probably the most get to the hoop at all costs type player we have…….JO i think can finish pretty well too but hes already in the post….we need a young fearless slasher………if some way we could land corey brewer ……..maybe swing rudy fernandez to minnesota ( so rubio has a spanish pal in town ) with sheeds contract and a pick involved…..i dunno whats going on with this team this offseason….DA kept the crew together that was key……..nate for a full year will be better….JO will help….perkins injury will hurt…..i cant help but feel that the guys running things know the rookies are going to contribute otherwise i feel we would have been more active…….i think we need shaq……im not opposed to trading perkins, but only for immediate help AND longterm gain…corey brewer or jared dudley would be my dream scenario backup 3’s at this point, but i think the job is mostly daniels to lose…..maybe erden comes outta nowhere and drops some 10p/8r/1b games on us !!!!!!!!

there is really no other piece but Avery Bradley...

as much as I wanna see Bradley in Celtic green as I like how he plays. Saw him in his lone year in Texas and the guy ca make shots and his WILLINGNESS to defend and bother passing lanes is perfect for Boston.

but we all probably know that he is going to be just sitting there in the bench until his time comes. And we gotta remember that there is only 2 more years of the WIN NOW mode before Danny dismantles the roster and start rebuilding.

Rudy, comes in and helps off the bat. He’ll be part of the rotation right away. And we all talked about his offense so probably we know what we need to know. The fact though that he can provide quality minutes right away and still being young is probably the reason why giving up on Avery is worth it.

Then again, now that Von Wafer is signed he can be that piece, but I think Portland would go for Bradley because of his potential. Plus if i remember Jerryd Bayless reqeusted a trade too getting Bradley with make sense if they want Bayless out.

Bradley + Gaffney/Wafer + 1st round pick 2011 (if they have any or their next available 1st pick)

to Portland for

Rudy + 2nd round pick 2011.

Then use Sheed’s contract + Lafayette for Shaq = Banner 18, 19 and a solid core of Pierce, Rondo, Rudy and BBD by the time all contracts expire.
