for my post. but i'm on-board with rebuiling now..
history is on my side with this. san antonio since 07?? Lakers when they had shaq? celtics, the first big three?? the point is. Pierce isnt owed anything. i never understood that from fans. if he is owed any thing then montana, rice wouldnt have left san fran. emmit smith wouldnt have left dallas. shaq would have retired a laker. pippen a bull, malone a jazz, bledsoe a patriot? pierce is a boarder line HOF player. at best! this big 3 was given a 3 year window by almost every body. including you, dont lie.. they won it all the first year. and that was worth the trades alone! they came within 6 minutes the 3rd year. and lets be honest, it was alot harder then most would have ever thought. but resigning pierce to a 4 year 61 million contract, now trying to get ray back. and making another run at it, with the same team is a bit unrealistic. the team was worn out. and since the game 7 i've battled back and forth with what i think they should do. and i'm on-board with rebuilding now. if they S&T ray, pierce and then move sheed i think they could get some valuable players in return. making the transition alot easier. lets not forget this is all a buisness. its tough to say bye to players who have been in one teams uniform for so long, but it might be time to let pierce walk and rebuild or atleast trade him for players to help that process along quicker. i'm sure the clippers would give aminu for pierce, and wouldnt the knicks give lee (S&T) for ray(S&T) if it helped them get amare and another high caliber player? the celtics couldnt s&t nate or daneils? move sheed for some one worth mentioning and let them rebuid more like the thunder are? young talent makin a improvement every year. rondo plus kg leading the way? sorry but i cant see pp, ray, kg, rondo, bbd, sheed making it thru everyone else again. the league probably wont let it. then add lebron plus who ever where ever they want.. would everyone be ok with giving pierce the same deal if this was football? belicheck gets killed for making moves on players that are fan favorites, but still has a system and comes out with a winning record most years to all years. they never give players on the decline long term deals, but the celtics are doing that, and its ok? lets start the rebuilding now, when rondo is still improving alot year to year instead of 4 years from now when they will have to make a decision, do they totally rebuild and trade everyone?
and let me be killed for saying this ...... now.
