In our unusual predicament of low cap space and aging players, could now be the time to take a risk on a couple of young guns? Free agency has not been as kind to us as it has for the Miami Heat. The only free agents who would play for us are over 30 (Jermaine O'neal, Shaq, Brad Miller) or mediocre (Barbosa, Fernandez, Mike MIller).
So far I've caught brief glimpses of potential in some of the players on our summer team.
Harangody, Carroll, Sims, Lafayette, Janning, Thompson, Parakhouski, just to name a few I like. Not only are these guys young, they are also cheap. We could probably invite 6 to camp and then narrow it down to 2 or 3, depending on who we sign.
These guys have potential and will give us depth on the bench. I am ready to take a risk, but the final decision will come down to Danny Ainge, who also must take the risk.
Thoughts? Anyone else want to take a risk on a couple of these guys?
