Celts need younger, quicker, longer, smart, rebounding players!

Now that the Celtics have re-signed, arguably, the League's best shooter in Ray Allen - Along w/ hopefully signing Jermaine O'Neal (or David Lee would even be better if Celts could pull it off - Next on the list of big men would be Brad Miller/ NO to Shaq or Kwame though!!) here are some names to consider bringing to the C's as well-fitting pieces to form a Championship team: Any combo of two of these guys would be great: - Josh Childress, Travis Outlaw, Ronnie Brewer, Al Harrington, Udonis Haslem, Josh Boone, Tracy McGrady.........then throw in a back-up PG like a Jamaal Tinsley or Rafer Alston type......MAKE IT HAPPEN MR. AINGE :) Get the Big 3 one more title, atleast!

Jamaal Tinsley, are you kidding? Not only is he trash, he has major issues on and off the court, forced to sit out the entire 08 season, always hurt, foul attitude, no thank you.

I agree....BUT

I mostly agree w/ what u said about the players w/ bad attitudes and being unhealthy, but I think that these guys are still servicable and have some redeemable skills……..Maybe Doc and the vets on the team could turn these guys’ attitudes around, especially in a winning atmosphere. I would definitley love to see Josh Childress, Travis Outlaw, or Ronnie Brewer type – young, long, quick, can rebound, have potential. Another name to consider could be Josh Howard……..Glad the BIG 3 are back for another go around, but some major pieces have to be added to help in next years playoffs, especially if a “New Big 3 is formed in Miami”……we’ll C what happens! ???

I do not think the C's have the $$ to get both Jermaine Oneil and David Lee....

if that could be pulled off by Danny though some how that would be a great back up front line to come off the bench for the C’s.

from here on out, it’s going to be a bunch of ‘sheldon williams’ type additions unfortunately. unless DA trades BBD and another player for a pretty good player. Otherwise, the impactful deals are done

The above list is unrealistic because

after the Celtics sign Jermaine O’Neal with the MLE, they only have Sheed’s contract for trade fodder along with the vet minimum. Many of the players listed above are MLE or MLE-plus, contract-wise.

Who in the above list do you think will sign with the Celtics for the vet minimum?

There must be a way to get one the guys from the above list w/ out giving up too much

Josh Childress didn’t even play in the NBA last year, did he? He shouldn’t be demanding too much ?? Childress would be a perfect fit. Do a sign + trade using Tony Allen, or a player similar………How about Matt Barnes or Josh Howard??
