Melo May Be Next
Apparently next year the roles of LeBron and Bosh will be played by Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul.
ESPN.com - Sources: Carmelo Anthony likely to go
All signs continue to point toward the eventual divorce between Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets. League sources say it is now a matter of when, not if, Anthony and the Nuggets will go their separate ways.
Interesting. That should be enough to keep Knick fans coming back for another year of "wait till next year."

Shame on you, Jeff
Trying to give Knick fans hope. Shame.
Wow
The western conference is really gonna be horrible next couple of years which means the lakers are gonna have a free ride to the finals. The only who can even come close to beating them is OKC.

OKC have a very good chance at beating LA
They can even be co-favorites in 2 years with their nucleus in place, while Kobe and Fisher break down like KG. I wouldn’t necessarily say LA has a free ride, though they’re still the team to beat.
If only Greg Oden can stay healthy…….

maybe dallas will step up for once
but dey have about da same window we do , what can the knicks offer though? and i dont think cp3 is moving anywhere anytime soon
amare , melo, and cp3
haha. no matter how much ny spends they will never be relevant. I have full confidence that stern is tickled about the attention this would bring.
The best we can hope for is....
Melo signs a 3 yr. 65 million ext. to play for the Nuggets which makes sense because nobody does know what is in the offering in the new CBA, but the contracts he signs stipulates he should have an Opt-out clause in 2012, thereby he can command whether to stay in Denver or choose to play for NY or Boston which by then, we would have the capspace in 2012 where DA has thrown all his marbles, also makes sense for Melo since CP3’s contract expire then. ( which by then, I am inclined to think Rondo has equalled CP3 and Deron as the best PGs of the nation… ;-)
"No I’m not KG. Not at all, but I’m Big Baby Glen Davis from LSU, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’m not the Big Ticket. I’m the Ticket Stub. Don’t count the Ticket Stub out. You might need the ticket to get in the game, but you leave with the ticket stub, because you’ll never forget this game."
Not possible
You can’ have an early termination option before the end of the fourth year in a contract.
After burning his old BFF's jersey, Spike Lee was wearing his new BFF's jersey at the France game...
…….yes, it’s hard to guess, but Spike’s new, this one is real, this one is gonna last, this one won’t stand NY up, we’ll get him with a new petition signed by me, Charlie Rose, Liza Minnelli, and the mayor, this one won’t tease us & leave us hanging, legit BFF is Melo. So it is official. Let the sucking up begin. If Melo plays out this year with the nugs just imagine his reception at MSG. They will probably throw roses at him & applaud his every point with streamers falling from the rafters booing any knickerbocker who fouls him & give him several keys to the city.
interesting if it happens
if CP3 and Melo join Amare in NY they’ll be an interesting team but will come in as second best to Miami.
Bosh > Amare
Bron > Melo
Wade > CP3
Impossible comparison.
D’antoni plays a run and gun system which will be incredibly effective with CP3 and Amare running the screen and roll. I think that 3 is a better compliment that what’s in Miami.
Think about how good Nash and Amare were in the screen and roll, now put CP3 in that situation, scary. Then Melo is your shot creater, Bron is clearly better, but I think that match up is the only spot it’s a clear advantage.
It remains to be seen if Wade and Bron can even co-exist, since both dominated the ball so much last year, one of them is gonig to have to drastically alter the way they play the game, and start doing a lot of off-the-ball movement. The 3 that could be in New York could play pretty much the same game they’ve always played, and just have better pieces around them than ever before. Should be an easier transition.
+1
Knicks fan Not being biased…but IF thost 3 were to team…their talents would better compliment each other. Each guy brings different talents to the court while no one would really have to changer their game.
Slamking- i dont agree.. Amare > Bosh. Both leave some to be desired on D. But amare has bigger presence in the paint. And is more physical..which is what you would want in a PF right? Bosh has a better handle, but in a one on one matchup in a playoff game.. id bet on amare winning that battle
"they try to do what he do, and been where he's been, but they get folded in two.....he's the dude"
Sizzlack:
I don’t disagree that the NY 3 will be effective and work well together. I just don’t think they’ll be as good as the Miami 3. IMHO, I don’t think Miami will have the ego clashes for a few years that everyone anticipates. Not because Bron will subjugate his ego but I think Wade will. He’s always struck me as someone that cares about winning and will do what it takes. Bosh is where I think the wheels will become unhinged in a few years as he gets tired of being the 3rd option on that team and will look to move on.
Semsemma: I agree Amare is more physical but I think Bosh has a better overall game. I really believe they’re a wash when compared. I’m not ready to discredit Bosh’s effort in a playoff game until I actually see him in one where he’s only got to do his role and not carry the entire team. In that situation, I think he’ll do just fine against Amare. Depending on whether this plays out as expected, we may just see it next year.

I 100% agree with you.
About the Wade/Bron/Bosh ego thing. I’ve always said Bosh will be the guy to derail the whole thing. He clearly loves the spotlight, and wants the attention (see: camera crews he hired to follow him during free agency) and once it becomes the “wade and Bron” show with Bosh as the third wheel, he could start making some noise.
Far as Bosh/Amare, Bosh has been a better rebounder no doubt, both lack post defense. Amare is definitely quicker, but I like Bosh’s mid-range game better. Amare is definitely more dangerous in the screen and roll, he’s scary explosive for a guy his size, but I’d take Bosh in a post up game I think. Ya, probably a wash at best.
Isn't it possible he'd come here in 2012
Melo has a player option next summer…but there will be a lockout. Why would he opt out right before the lockout…none of the owners will want to sign a contract without knowing the new rules (ala Tom Brady). So he plays out the player option and is unrestricted in the summer of 2012 and becomes a top target for us.
Very unlikely.
If he leaves, he’s probably going to New York. It’s clear he has a love affair with the city. I’m also convinced CP3 has this whole thing planned out, and their stringing everyone along, just like Bron/Bosh/Wade did.
Welcome to the new NBA, where players toy with fans emotions and it’s just one big circus act. Bring a bag, it’ll make you vomit.
Can I make this more unlikely?
Dwight has a player option that summer. Danny recruits Howard and ’Melo to play with Rondo.
Domination commences.
Ya won’t happen, but it’s fun to dream.
Don't forget to add the part where DA trades that bag of cheetos for Durant as well
Rondo, Durant, Melo, Howard, hmmm … need one more for the fantasy team …
A step further with a fantasy roster
rondo
fernandez
durant
big al
Howard
bench
Bradley
Ray
pp
kg
perk
had to keep it real with at least some intangibles, ie Bradley, Rudy and Al, kg on a bench.
Lol
yes that team would so obviously and easily dominate
make it happen Danny, lol
you know as great as the fantasy is realistically, if we get one nice FA and get a bettr bench consider it a win, there will obviously be a bridge year. Honestly if they are not playing for a repeat title I wouldnot be surprised to see both KG and JO traded as expiring contracts to bring in some quality beef, to start te rebuild early. They win forget it, maybe JO goes but doubt they don’t try to make another last ditch run. But I digress. There will definetly be a bridge year or 2. But wih Rondo and Perk, 2 solid guys at the hardest positions to fill, to build around. We will be alright.
You know what forget it, what was I thinking, Danny make the deals! But my bad you have to get Roy instead of Fernandez, duh! Think we can sign and trade shaq for Roy in 2012?

So he's leaving.
The question is, how can the Nuggets benefit? I’d certainly not expect them to repeat the mistakes the Suns and Cavs made…

Hey!?
Dont count portland out when oden comes back they will be nasty i mean look at all the injuries they had this season and still had a winning record in the west and went to the playoffs and put up a fight with the suns who put up a fight with LA. Oden comes back they will have one of the best centers in the nba also they have a star in Brandon Roy just beware of Portland They can take the Lakers out when healthy if not this year coming up than the next. Also OKC has a great chance they took the Lakers to game six and had them sweating i also think if we had a healthy center the celtics would of won the nba finals last year LA is overrated last year they play an un experienced magic team and kg got injured if that didn’t happen the celtics would prolly have 3peated. This year they played a banged up Celtic’s team don’t sat well bynum was hurt cause dude is always hurt and gasol is a center/PF in game 7 we didn’t have a healthy center sheed could barely move and perk was watching from the sidelines.
Hey
That was no reason there… lol. Take any shot at the knicks when you can hu?
We’ll see this year when the hype is what seed will we be racing for instead of what player we are trying to sign next summer
