Parish Supports Shaq Signing

Parish a big supporter of Celtics bringing in Shaq - The Boston Globe

"He’s lost a step, but any time you design a game plan with Shaq on the [opposing] team, it starts with Shaq in my opinion because he is still a load,’’ Parish said. "Shaq can still rebound and Shaq can play defense and that’s what the Celtics need most from him. Because the Celtics are going to surround Shaq with plenty of offense. He definitely can get it done defensively, but he can’t do it for a long period of time. "Like I said, for 20 minutes or on a good night, 30 minutes, he can still get it done.’’

Very cool !!!!

i totally agree with Parish …people are saying its a bad signing ?? WTF ?? hes just gonna be a back up ..not a starter ……hes a former league mvp and a 3time finals mvp and we got ime for 2 yrs in the minimum ?? thats a great signing ..if it doesnt workout and he has a bad attitude just cut him off the team simple as that ..but we wont act up ..its his last 2 yrs we wants to have a great legacy retiring as a celtics and bringing the organizatin championships !!

If anyone knows the limitations of an "old" player in the NBA is, it is Parish

At 43, he is the third oldest player to ever play an NBA game (to Nat Hickey of the Providence Steamrollers, and Kevin Willis of the Dallas Mavericks) and as of 2010, his 1,611 games played over 21 seasons are unmatched.

The Belief

must be that banner 18 would have been ours if either a) perk would have been healthy in game 7 or 2) we would have outrebounded LA in the series.

The rebounding deficiency has been corrected

What?

That doesn’t make any sense.

Lol

No more excuses, we lost. We’ll get them again this year.

bottom line

we need bodies and depth upfront….we can run with our best vs Miami for maybe 30 mins a nite. Then we need a wave of guys to fill in the other 18 mins or so….beat’m up and pound the glass is our hope….guys 6-10 gotta be better than thiers because James,Wade & Bosh can play 45 mins a nite….it can be done, kinda the old Celtics vs Showtime Lakers….hammer them

I´ve read Pistons are interested in moving Tayshaun Prince, may be by the trade deadline. Why not to trade then Sheed´s contract and Marquish for the perfect back up for Pierce. Don´t you think so?

Shaq attack..

man, how can people think this man can’t help us? I know, it’s because they want the old Shaq and think if they dont get him then he can’t help. That’s why he wasn’t considered all that great last year or with Phoenix. There will be a lot of games with us where we hardly need him so when we do and he comes through he is going to look great. This guy still has more raw power then anyone in the game! If he gets the ball 3 feet from the basket and really wants to score, who can stop him?

Chief hit it on the head

Shaq can still play despite being 38.

He can still score – rebound and defend which is all we need him to do.

Considering also he will be playing limited minutes he will be just fine.

Shaq can play defense

The Chief seems to have been in hibernation since he retired. NBA defenses have become a tiny bit more sophisticated than lining up against your man and playing.

the chief probably likes all the old big men but he knows of what he speaks. shaq brings us all out and lots of bb talk during a down time. you have to hand it to danny-he keeps us interested and the market alive.

Shaq was the second best true center available

behind brendon haywood and we not only got shaq but we got him without using sheed’s contract or the mle. The O’neals will be huge upgrades this season and i think we are in great shape to win a championship thiss year and maybe evenn next year.

Think about it though

Even at 50 yrs old now, who’s better out there in FA that’s a better center than Shaq. Scoring would be just a plus from Shaq, we need him for other things. We need him to bully Gasol and Bynum more than anything…and Howard. KG is loving it right now.

And if the Chief says it's ok

Everyone better listen, he’s the one who has all the RINGS!! Plain and simple.

What has Chief been smoking?

Oh wait, nevermind!

(I keed, I keed. I agree with him, but the joke was to obvious to pass up).
