I'm surprised they have us in playoff contention
In as much as they probably Miami going 328-0. Doesn’t that mean they get the first 4 seeds themselves?
sheed taught us that the regular season is meaningless -
- especially if they’re in the top 4
.
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk
Don’t really care if we finish 6th this team built for the playoffs. It’s all up in the air really anyone of their top 5 teams could end up in any order. Yes Miami could have the leagues best record but it could also take a couple seasons for that to happen, I personally would laugh my bum off to see them falter out of the gate for the 1st 30 games only to see Riley fire spoelstra and take over coaching duties leading them to a playoff ouster…
The team I am most interested in seeing is Chicago, and the jazz/mavs in the west, I like the moves they made.
well......that settles it
No need to get NBA League Pass….
What a bunch of geeks ……sitting around making predictions that they don’t have to live with and it’s August……I hate predictions….it’s so insane
Our local paper gives the 7 day forecast every day …..they hardly get the next 12 hours right and yet they feel the need to throw out 7 days worth…..
ESPN = Extra Stupid Predictions Non-Stop
Is it Soup Yet?
On top of that
Are rosters even set in stone yet? Not necessarily. Players can still move around well before the season starts.
Great One, I wouldn’t get League Pass where you’re at because it seems like it doesn’t work half the time there….
If they have us third in the east, It means we’ll lose roughly 40% of our games….Let’s hope your league pass is working while we’re winning.

Business as usual
Just more hype for the “Chosen Three”. Get used to it, ESPN will be doing this non stop.

Are these the same "experts" who predicted the Cs to lose in 1st 2nd & 3rd rounds of the playoffs?
Also the same “experts” who predicted the Cs would lose to the lake in 08 ? Only Legler got it right back then. Seriously, if we had the same “accuracy” as these guys in our jobs then we would be homeless & destitute. There should be more accountability with these “experts”
I just hope that Doc develops the bench more this year during the regular season so the starters can get some proper rest & have the energy necessary to close out games. Running the starters into the ground trying to win regular season games is not the way to go.
experts hahah
everyone is in expert in their own opinion. thats why i laughed my ass off when the c’s beat the cavs hahahahahaha espn is turing into straight up propaganda

i really dont care against what the espn experts
the celtics is a team built for the playoffs.,., i would bet my salary for the next 10 years and the celtics is not only gonna win the eastern conference but gonna go all the way to the 18th banner
Me too.
The only good thing about this year will be Dwight (I’m a punk) Howard saying “Hello” to Shaq’s elbow.
i don't feel that they are terribly mistaken here
if lebron could lead the cavs to 60+ wins, there’s no way this miami team doesn’t.
as acknowledged by espn’s experts, the celts will coast through the regular season as they did this past season because only april, may, and june matter to them. i hope we win more than 51 games, but if it doesn’t happen then it doesn’t happen. i think the celts have proven to themselves that it doesn’t matter how they finish in the reg season, they can make it to the finals. homecourt could have made a huge difference in game 7 though :/
Agreed
After last season, it was pretty obvious (and extremely frustrating as a fan) that the C’s didn’t care about the regular season. The only thing that mattered was gettting to April healthy. So I can’t help but expect that this will hold true for 2011. At least now we know so the losses to the likes of the Nets and Knicks will sting a little less.
There is no way that...
The worst team in the East has 27 wins, that Chicago is in 4th above the Hawks and the Bucks, that the Nets get 27 wins and are above Toronto, there is just so much wrong with those standings… I also don’t think Miami can do what you think they can. Everybody is going to gun for them, Bosh is soft as a pillow and Wade has lost his durability. They will be a good team, but to pencil them in the top slot is disrespectful to the teams that have earned it over the past few years like the Magic and Celtics.
Last thought, any team with a front court destroys the Heat.
2nd
I am waiting for Orlando players to just stop listening to van gundy. I say this is the season he gets fired.
I will say this
It’s all about injuries. Though it is impossible to predict, an injury to Howard, LeBron, Wade, and those teams have a more difficult time contending. I actually think even though the Celt’s are older, they have the most depth in terms of being able to have reliable back-ups.
All that said…the Celt’s are built for the playoffs (as we saw last year). They can grind out tough, physical games when it is all on the line.
I feel like the Magic’s ranking includes Chris Paul at PG somehow as well. I’m not quite sure I see them breaking 55 wins. Maybe 50 at most. Also, who is beating the Heat 21 times? Honestly?
Wasn't much in their rankings that I'd disagree with.
Hopefully we can turn it up a few notches come playoff time like last year. Sure hope Danny gets another wing with size so that Paul can be fresh come the playoffs.

What are the wise guys in Vegas saying?
Those are the people that are held accountable
The Guys in Vegas....
Don’t set odds based on who they think will win, but rather what they feel is the public’s perception of that, because it is the public doing the betting.

Still going by the moniker 'experts'..
Win the division and then go from there.
"Do you know that nonbelievers create the most positive energy?" Davis said
Can someone please tell me what Orlando did to get better? Yes JJ Redick is improving but they lost a big chunk of their defense in Matt Barnes
Don't hold your breath
No one can tell you that coz they ARE CLEARLY NOT!!!!!!!!
Thank God
they didn’t pick us to win, since they’ve never picked anything right yet. They must be the worst pool of ‘experts’ ever assembled.
Couldn't disagree more...
With just about all of those picks. I think Miami won’t be #1, Orlando gets it. We should be #2 with MIA tied with Milwauke for #3. Other random thoughts, I’d be shocked to see the Bulls higher than 6, Toronto won’t be last, the Nets won’t get 27 wins and that writer was off his rocker.
That's not the most outrageous of predictions.
Could certainly see the regular season playing out that way for the Celtics.
Now, as for Miami running away with it all… Eh, I’m sceptical.
I specializes in grammar fail.
Bullcrap
They didn’t even think we’d beat Cleveland last year, or ORLANDO. lol Celtics 1 or 2 the least in the East, and pls, Orlando isn’t better than the C’s this year. I will say this right now. It will be the C’s and the Heat meeting in the East Finals.
The only way that can be right
Is if there are major injuries like last year.
The 2-4 slots are a jumble
I could see us anywhere in there. The predictions make sense. Orlando in my book is No. 2 for one reason: Perk’s knee. He’s one one the few Howard equalizers. But I like our chances. I’m really intrigued by what Chicago and Milwaukee can do. Poor Atlanta; sinking as quickly as they rose. Sad.

Its good when ESPN doesn’t pick you and bad when they do. Those guys don’t know their butts from holes in the ground.

Total joke, they should be sued to have the news taken out of their name. That kind of hype it up journalism is the paragon of unprofessionalism.
