Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here.

Ron Artest is going to sell his championship ring to raise awareness for mental health.  Really.

Ron Artest selling his ring to raise awareness for mental health? I believe the caption should simply read “IRONIC”!

What an Idiot

What kind of person sells their Championship Ring? I always knew he was weird and this just proves it

Seriously? Talk about being closed minded. The guy is trying to do something that is genuinely good and he’s raising awareness about diseases that truly need attention. How dare he?

I'm not gonna criticize a guy

For this. It’s a good deed, regardless of motivation.

To each his own

Its his ring but it might be one of the dumbest ideas i ever read…its not like he couldn’t have just donated the cash. Why take away something away from your memories you worked your whole career to acheive?Someday he might live to regret this move.As i said before"to each his own".

Maybe the ring doesn't mean much to him.

Since it is known that this guy is a little off, we should cut him some slack. There are many people on this planet who don’t value money and possessions very much. Maybe he plans on winning another one and will use it as a motivating factor to get one for himself. Or maybe the memories of being on the floor in the NBA Finals is what he values the most.

I don’t care much for the guy, but he does seem to be genuine about many things.

Agreed, regardless of motivation

Which we do not and cannot know, it’s something he’s doing in the spirit
of helping others and shedding more light on the need for better mental
health help for victims, ptsd survivors or just your average person who doesn’t really understand why they are having problems in life.
Automatically attributing negative motives and/or laughing down at him from
wherever you are on high just looks crude.

Thank you Ron Artest

I posted a thank you but then deleted it, because I am tired of being a thread killer. Since this is my favorite cause, and because this is a very high profile way of bringing attention to it, I say “Thank you, Sir” to Ron Artest. There are many people who suffer some form of mental or emotional illness, and it is getting even more prevelent. Bringing understanding and attention to this group of diseases is is a good thing, no matter what you think the motive might be.

Thank you mmbaby, for giving me the motivation to jump in again.
