Big tip of the cap to Red's Army for putting this petition to get Johnny Most into the Hall of Fame, hopefully righting a big oversight by the HoF.

Johnny Most deserves the recognition....

I grew up hearing him in the 80’s listening to the C’s on the radio (when not watching them on tv) and I consider him a legendary play by play radio man and one of the best in the business of all time.

He spoke his mind and did not care and always saw things with green colored glasses…which just showed he bled Celtic green.

The link below provides a few examples of just that and contains some of my most (no pun intended) favorite Johnny Most radio moments:

The Best

I was blessed to hear Johnny all the way back to 1956.

I remember when I moved to NJ in 1965 and was able to hear Celts games over a intermittent signal but Johnny provided a GREAT description of what was going on.

Johnny’s Fiddle and Diddle were colorful but his ability to allow you to envision where a player was on the court were never replicated.

He made the term SWISH popular….. It made you envision that BB going thru the net.

Sure he was a homer and had those pet names but he along with Chuck Hearn was the best ever.

It’s about time he made it into the HOF.

What?

I’m more shocked that Most isn’t in the HOF already.

Johnny did more for basketball in Boston than any other broadcaster

McFilthy and McNasty

Great terms for was it Mahorn and another player Laimbeer or another player? as well as his description of the players for Yugoslavia in a preseason game

Didn’t Chic Hern and Johnny Most do a portion of their opposing team’s broadcast once during a lakers Celtics game?
