Why Perk is my favorite player in the NBA
“I don’t have a choice. I don’t have a choice but to have a chip on my shoulder.”
+1
Fav celtic other than el capitan
they really need to present him with a reasonable offer and make him the 3rd celtic locked in

The biggest concern I have with Perk coming back is...
him rushing is rehab and coming back too soon. I hope he takes his time, heals completely and returns when he’s 100%
Unfortunately...
if he waits till he is 100%, he won’t be back this year. But I see your point. We’ve all seen what can happen when players rush back. The one thing we won’t have to worry about with Perk, though is his work ethic. The other thing is that he’s not an explosive player that relies on a lot of athleticism – just great technique and hard-nosed, grind-it-out grit and effort.
and this is why the two o'neals are so important.
The better Shaq and J play, the more time Perk can take and the less pressure to return he will feel.
I agree @thenation
Good read btw, But yes I agree, We have more than enough cover at Center for KP, if it means taking the entire season off to fully recover, then hell I would do it, No need to rush coming back just to get hurt again
Lets go Celtics!

He Won't Be 100% This Year
With the knee injury there’s no chance he can be 100% this year. First, he can’t even begin rehab till it’s healed and the swelling is down. Second, rehab will be a slow process. Third, he will probably loose muscle mass and rehab won’t resolve this. I don’t expect him to be 100% till next year, hopefully. But, how often has Perk played at 100%. Plantar Fasciaitis, other physical problems, etc. But Perk, as KG, depends on his legs to play his best so I think the answer is unknown. My prediction is he will be fine next year and may give us some help in the playoffs this year. He will not get into game shape this year, enough to log big minutes. I also don’t think the acquisition of the O’Neill’s will have any effect on Perk’s future with the Celtics. The Celtics are a defensive team first and Perk is the best team defensive player of the three. Shaq will be gone when Perk is really able to play again. And if JO can stay healthy and produce he will be a nice backup. Also, looking ahead, the team will change greatly when KG either retires or his legs just can’t get it done. Much of what makes Perk so good is that he works so well with KG. Perk without KG is still the best defensive Center in the NBA, in my opinion, but he can’t get it done alone. I feel real bad for Perk. He’s one of the really good guys.

Love the note about being a Celtic for life.
I just love that kind of loyalty.

great interview
SLAM: People are also always talking about—and this was a big thing in the playoffs—how you scowl on the court. I just wanted to note for the record: You smile a lot. Do you want to tell people why you don’t smile during games?
KP: Man, because, first of all, this is how I feed my family. This is my job. So every time I get on the court, it’s all business. And then, you got a psychopath like KG right on the side of you, so that’s just added fuel to the fire. (Laughs).
Gonna love this part! Perk is just a great dude (-:
Perk on rebounds
SLAM: Talking about on the court, last year, aside from yourself, you guys had a lot of trouble rebounding. Why do you think that was?
KP: Man, to be honest, the crazy thing is that when you look back at the stats, we was like No. 2 in the League in defense—or No. 1, probably. But we were No. 2 in the League in "No Second Chance Points." So we were giving up rebounds, but we wasn’t giving up nothing for it. So if they was to get offensive rebounds, we would play defense and get it right back. You see what I’m saying?
Perk gets it. This is basically what I’ve been trying to say all year.
Rebounds are great. But points are more important.
