Free Agency Thoughts

Hey All, This is my first fanpost in the Celtics Community

Well I was thinking that, we should bring in Vince Carter and Antwan Jamison as Free Agents, under the Veterans Minimum wage. I was thinking with VC, we have a little more depth behind Allen, so we don't wear him out during the season and Allen can have a few days off in the season. Also Vince can fit into our system, with the likes of KG, Pierce, Allen and Rondo. VC isn't the same player when we was in Toronto nor in New Jersey, but he is still capable of shooting and coming off the bench and produce. We dont need him to score 20 pts per game, we just need him to fill in as a reserve and know his role coming off the bench and do whatever he is asked to do. On the other hand, Jamison would be a great addition to the team, the guy play lights out and is capable of starting. He's one of those guys that doesn't get the spotlight for his hard work, such as rebounding and protecting the rim. He's also an inside presence with his size and his scoring ability in the paint.

What the heck man?

is the Celtics a nursing home for over the hill Stars? do we really gotta pick up every old dude who wont ask for money? I could have sworn the goal moving forward was to get younger and more athletic, we keep on packing in the old guys and the despite how decent of a season we might have it will still all come down to the Heat jumping over our grey haired heads and beating us down the floor every break…VC…. baah. Antwan Jamison… baah… I’d rather go into rebuilding than hire the likes of those two.

Welcome to posting on Celticblog Touhue Cha...

If the C’s stick with the veteran core this year (if there is a season) the C’s will probably no doubt attempt to fill some parts of the the roster with short term 1 year min contract players to maintain finical flexibility next year.

Though Carter would be a interesting signing I think a more logical signing out of the 2 players would be Jamison.

With Babys future in the air and the only other power forward currently on the roster being rookie JJ. (who I hope gets minutes next year) I think signing another veteran power forward is needed.

Though I would really like to see Troy Murphy resigned for a veteran min contract , if he is not a option I would not mind seeing someone like Jamison being signed.
I think he would be a serviceable back up power forward who would add depth and experience behind KG and along side J.J.

Just me 2 cents though.

yea, i agree with you; last season they didnt have a force coming off the bench to help KG get some rest, i mean baby davis was good, but hes not that big and he gets push around by bigger PF and Centers
