Doc subtly disses Glen Davis?
Doc Rivers on Bass, From Celtics.com:
“I like that he can score, number one, before anything else,” Rivers said of Bass. “I just thought he was one of those guys there that can score. Great pick-and-pop player. Not bad in iso situations away from the basket. We need that coming off the bench. I like that he just plays hard; low maintenance, just plays hard every night.” -Doc
"low maintenance", I find it fitting that Doc used that phrase to describe Bass (who was traded for Davis and Wafer).
Sounds like that's a subtle slight to Davis. I imagine there was much more of a strained relationship there behind the scenes. Davis clearly couldn't listen to himself (weight clause, self-discipline), so I'd imagine it made it that much harder for him to listen to Doc, especially given that he wanted a bigger role on the team.
I firmly believe Doc got sick of this guy and had a big hand in his movement.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

yeeeppppp!
Sick and tired of him not growing up and being a ball hog.
I don't think there's any need to "imagine" the relationship was strained.
It was pretty apparent, Doc has even taken some hard lines with him in the media, remember the “If you don’t know your role by now, then I can’t help you” comment last year?
He was clearly tired of it, I don’t doubt it, and I bet he’s salivating at the fact that Danny just managed to turn Davis into Brandon Bass, a cheaper, more athletic version of Big Baby.
"Phil is obviously a good coach. You don't win that many games without being a damn good coach, ... Remember one thing: He's been very fortunate. He picks his spots. That's all I can say." - Red Auerbach
Big baby
I can never erase the image of him crying on the bench after KG yelled at him. He obviously has talent but I think we got a good player in return.
mess
I think we got rid of some cancers on the team. Both Baby and Delonte were on the fragile side mentally. I know they gave us some hustle and heart. Still Baby wasn’t atheletic and Delonte was injured too much. Baby punching is buddy and not being able to jump was bad. He took charges that was his talent.
Isn't cancer too strong a word?
Big Baby behaved poorly at times but was not out of control nor did he completely give up, nothing like an Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, or Carmelo Anthony. Delonte has mental issues but seemed to be a great teammate who worked hard, except that incident with Von Wafer (but those 2 guys were competing for minutes).
yeah
Probably a terrible choice now that I think about what KG said. I liked both DW and BBD when they hustled. I think they made some bad decisions. BBD got fat and lazy. A true professional getting paid millions of dollars need to stay in top shape, not slack off the second half of the season.
