Why is no one talking about Aaron Gray?

The Kid is like 7'2, strong, in his zone he is a good rebounder and defender.

He has better hands than Perk did, and looks better posting up than Perk, With Rondo feeding him the ball Gray can Avg 10/8 as a starter.

The other guy I would not overlook is Joel P, he is another 7 footer that can defend.

My guess is that the C's spend the full 3M MLE On a Center since we don't Have one (JO is not a starting C cause he never plays)

if our options at Center are Chuck hayes, Reggie Evans, we are in trouble.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I would not mind Gray or Przybilla coming on board...

as I have both of them on my wish list of possible centers the C’s can acquire.

Though both of them are slow a foot in a transition game they are both legit centers and have the size, muscle and a defensive presence to really help the C’s in the paint especially in a half court game.

I agree with you the C’s need to acquire centers with size and length and not undersized centers and either Przybilla or Gray would do the job.

Gray is a stiff...

While this is my opinion only, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. ;-)

He’d be a passable third stringer, but he’s not an option for a starter, or even a backup. I swear, after watching Aaron Gray for a half season, we’d all be pining for Shelden Williams.

Also, Chuck Hayes is about ten times the player Gray is...

Among other things, he can actually stay on the floor and can guard starting centers.

+1

Gray did indeed have some nice moments playing against Bynum ( again there is where his size and length come into play) and though he may not be a long term answer at center he would be a decent short term fix.

I mentioned him in a forum post a few days ago ...

and you’re right, Boston should be giving him a serious look.

Gray

Gray is a 2nd stringer at best. Pryz is too old and brittle my concern is we sign him and he gets hurt. Reggie Evens isn’t that bad. He’s a poor mans Ben Wallace. No offense but can rebound like crazy. He is not starting Center material though but would be a great Back up PF. Hayes would be good as well but is only 6’6-6’7. Can he bang D-howard around? No way. Evens and Hayes are both good PF options who can play some spot center. We need a true starting Center. BTW-I see him listed at 7’0.

Fooling yourselves

We just need to be real and trade for a center or pick one up via free agent and offer good money that’s the only way. Several are out there but we don’t agree on any particular one. Kaman comes to mind, the man can play. Last year was a down year for him.

I'm not excited about Aaron Gray

But you definitely have a point. He fits into the conversation we’re having about cheap end-of-the-bench bigs as well as anyone.

Gray + Evans / Hayes

We need more than one big. Hayes and Evans are in the BBD replacement category. Even if Hayes plays center he can defend multiple positions. And yes we do need serious size for certain match ups. Gray fits the bill in my view if you can pair him with someone who is quick and athletic like Jjuan and J Green. You can also pair BBD or Hayes with KG because he can match up with certain bigs and minimize the size issue; but there will be times when you need someone like Gray and KG on the floor at the same time.

can you imagine playing against a frontline of KG and Evans?

that would be terrifying for an opponent. Intimidation factor off the charts
