It still sounds like Paul Pierce will miss the season opener against the Knicks, but at least it doesn't sound like it is going to be a serious injury (but I guess you never know).

"I don’t think that we know for sure yet about Sunday, but we know that it’s not a long-term issue," team president Danny Ainge told the Herald yesterday. "It is uncertain, though, with that injury. But I don’t know of any player I’ve been around with more of a threshold for pain than Paul Pierce. "We have to be sure to keep the team’s best interests and Paul’s best interests at heart here."
