Haha

No, not a Laker fan, just a fan that would like to see the Celtics upgrade their weaknesses and give this thing one more shot.. the current roster is alot like the one ainge took over that maxes out as a second round team.. it has no inside scoring and will trouble to score enough points in general…Gasol helps them tremendously on the boards, is a gifted offensive talent and gives the celtics that second real solid big guy they need…they have no chance as long as o’neal is their starting center..

lol honestly Celtics lose their starting 5 and 1 for a 4 we already have a starting 4 that can ball in kg so i’m slightly confused i lol if we got dwight and only dwight id still like this deal so much more

The celtics get almost nothing

Pau is on the tail end of his career and not someone to build around it would be ok if we didn’t have to give up the two first round picks but as it is orlando and the lakers make out way better than us

I dont see how anyone can say that Pau Gasol is almost nothing.. he will average 18 and 10, give them a much needed 7 footer in the middle, and is a great passer.. they would have a much better shot this year of beating miami and chicago with him than without..

against miami— both teams would be bad at point… the heat would have advantage at the wings obviously, but its not like the celts are chopped liver there with 2 future hall of famers, and the celts have the big advantage up front— garnett and gasol >>>>> bosh and anthony… plus having 2 good big guys will help to prevent lebron and wade from scoring at the rim, making them more of a jump shooting team like dallas did to them in the finals..

against chicago— at the present time, they have advantage at pg, we have advantage at wings, and they have big advantage up front.. the have 4 good, active big guys… but post trade, chicago would still be better at point, but we would be better on the wings and up front.. plus, like with miam, having gasol and garnett back there with alot of length will clog the middle on rose drive’s and make him more of a jump shooter too…

I’m not saying the celts are guaranteed anything post trade, but they are guaranteed to go home early if JO is their starting center.

PG Play is overrated

Its the big guys that win the titles.. gasol is one of the best in the league, and clearly the best that they have a chance to acquire.. he is 31 and under contract for 3 years, same as pierce.. he would take a tremendous load off of garnett..

Last title teams PG’s
2011— Mavericks— 37 year old jason kidd
2009- 2010— Lakers— Derek Fisher
2008- Boston- Rondo in his second year, didn’t even play down the stretch of games

Last Title Teams PF-C
2011— Mavericks—- Dirk and Chandler
2009-2010- Lakers— Gasol and Bynum
2008 Celtics— Kevin Garnett (when he was top 5 player in league still and defensive player of year) and Kendrick Perkins

by clearing out our weakness at C

were going to have an even bigger one at the PG

by ZM15 on Dec 23, 2011 3:26 PM EST reply actions

We all agree

And that’s why I’d rather take zeller or plumlee or one of those guys with our two picks than get Pau and we keep rondo

by JuJuan some moore on Dec 23, 2011 3:52 PM EST up reply actions

Yes

I’ve been a huge advocate for trading Allen and I’m not opposed to trading anyone except Moore and Johnson. Rondo has higher value in the league than he is truely worth and I think teams would love Allen. I want to trade Allen to Utah and Garnett to who ever wants him. I’d like to keep pierce out of respect but restructure his contract

by JuJuan some moore on Dec 23, 2011 4:02 PM EST up reply actions

I disagree, and all ainge can do is worry about making the celts championship contender, he can't worry about the lakers.

They are giving up 2 good big guys who they have won titles with.. they will have some obvious holes as rondo and howard can’t shoot and are poor free throw shooters… their forwards will be terrible.. they will get a big upgrade at the point, an upgrade at center, and a huge downgrade at power forward..

The most dominant player in the league will be in the opposite conference.. the celtics will have a short window (1-2 years) to try to win title, with having the best 4-5 combo in the east, along with pierce and allen..

I would like this trade a ton more

If we kept our picks also this gives orlando 5 first round picks and a second

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Let’s trade our starting PG for 2 years of Pau Gasol. Classic stuff!

Too Stupid to Comment On

Perhaps the the Most Idiotic Trade Proposal I have seen to this Point!

by Glen B on Dec 24, 2011 9:19 AM EST reply actions

Why is it dumb?

You wouldn’t give up rondo for Pau? Id love to trade rondo and get Pau and I’d throw in oneal too. That would be a great trade for us he’s not even a top 5 pg and with Pau we would probably win the title this year

by JuJuan some moore on Dec 24, 2011 2:52 PM EST up reply actions

Is this a joke? A young stud point guard and 2 1st round picks for an another old player! Wack!
