Celtics Are Still Contenders

We all know these last two games have been tough for the aging Celtics, and with Paul Pierce hurt, that does not help much. I am here to tell you that the Celtics can and still are contenders. They have faced the Knicks and Heat in first two games of the short season. Those teams are among the best in the East and they have been close games. What would have happened if Paul Pierce was playing? How about Mickael Pietrus?

Rajon Rondo has been a key part for the Boston Celtics this season. In 2 games, he is averaging 26.5 PPG and 12.5 APG along with 2.5 steals per game. He has even included 6.5 RPG. In simple words, Rondo is the focus of the teams offense so far. He is going to continue to carry this team on his back this season. When teams start covering him in the drive, he will just kick out to names like Ray Allen, Kenyon Dooling, Paul Pierce, Pietrus and others.

Ray Allen is scoring. You got to admit that 24 points per game for a guy in his mid-30's is great. He is an amazing shape for ANY player in the NBA and this is will continue.

Others I am liking: Chris Wilcox: Offense Boards, Defense presence

Brandon Bass: Rebounding, Scoring

Kenyon Dooling: PG scoring

Avery Bradley: Terrible Offense but amazing defense

Others I am NOT liking: Kevin Garnett: Looks slow and not usual KG.

Jermaine O'Neal: Fouls, fouls, fouls

IF we can get Pierce back and Pietrus to be a big factor, then just wait... this team is always contenders with the Big 4. Look at their upcoming schedule...

Hornets

Pistons

Wizards

Wizards

Nets

That is 5 straight wins possibly.
