NEW ORLEANS, LA - APRIL 28: (L-R) Willie Green #33 and Chris Paul #3 of the New Orleans Hornets react on the bench during a 98-80 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game Six of the Western Conference Quarterfinals in the 2011 NBA Playoffs on April 28, 2011 at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. I feel like we're all being set up here like Charlie Brown with Lucy's football, but here goes:
"The deal is off," a source involved in the talks tells Y! Sports. "It's dead."
The NBA has caved to pressure from owners that the appearance of this deal, on heels of lockout, had to be stopped, sources tell Y! Sports.
The NBA has killed the proposed deal to send Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo! Sports.
This is crazy: Hearing the NBA (owner of New Orleans) vetoed the CP3 trade because it wasn't in the best interests in the league.
Please let this be true. Please let this be true. (Update: It's looking true.)
