Just a couple of quick points before I go to a meeting.
We're all shocked by yesterday. But there are a couple of things to keep in mind.
Personally, I feel fairly positive. But there are so many unknowns.1st, it isn't over. It can't be. Simple fact:
There was no reason to trade Erden now for a pick. That could have been done this summer. Danny has cleared roster spots. He HAS to have something in mind for now. Danny is not an idiot. he may be rolling the dice and something may not work out. But he has a plan for that/those roster spot(s)!
2nd, this move changes the identity of the team. We are getting younger and more athletic. And less oriented to defense via height at the 5. I find the prospects of all that intriguing and bewildering. We might get better. We might regress. But we have a different identity now.
We'll have to wait to see how things turn out.
As for this year, we need one more genuine big. If we get that, we might have a BETTER shot at #18.
If we don't ... hmmmm. I dunno. I'll tell you one thing that is seen as heresy when talking about the Cs.
I don't think they are a team that wins by defending. I think they win by scoring. And they lose when they go cold. Like last night.
The most important thing we need to get better is more consistent scoring. Hopefully, Danny's moves will help with that.
