Nate the Great

Dear Nate

They said you can't defend.  They said you're a ball hog.  They said you're a bad team mate.  They said you'll be bad for our chemistry.  You must not have heard them.

Some tall guards shot right over you, but not one of them was able to blow by you.  You were never lazy and swiped at the ball.  You always had a body on your man.  You even leapt over 7 footers to block shots.

You took some bad shots, but most of the time you passed well and often.  Most of your shots were open and you made a decent percent of them.

You really brought unity for our bench with your antics with Baby and Shaq.  You were always cheering the loudest on the bench.  You never complained.  You never fought.  You were the ONLY Celtic to ALWAYS give 100 percent when you were on the floor.

Every young player has their flaws.  Rondo has his free throws and his turn overs.  Perk's offense leaves a lot to be desired.  Baby is... well he's baby, and you made some bad decisions.  But you will grow, and you will learn just like all of them.  You had a bad shooting streak but even Ray, the greatest shooter in history, had a poor shooting streak that lasted for more than a month even last year.

You will be great in Oklahoma CIty.  Their pace is much faster and you'll get to play your game more with their offensive system.  You and Harden wil be a great one-two puch off their bench.

There are a lot of ungrateful people here who did not appreciate what you did for the Celtics, but there are a few of us who do.  It is not just Perk who will be missed.  We will miss you too.  We thank you for everything you have done for us and wish you the best in OKC.

Sincerely, Celtics fans

P.S.  Burn the Lakers in the playoffs for us!
