Danny Ainge has sinned. He has broken a sacred commandment with this trade. He has stolen from Oklahoma. He traded Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson for Jeff Green, Nenad Kristic and a high first round pick. This trade is anything but innocent, naive or a gamble.
Kedrick Perkins is 6ft 10in, 280lbs, 26yrs old and was the 27th pick in 2003. Nate Robinson is 5ft 9in, 180lbs, 26yrs old, and was the 21st pick in 2005. Nenad Krstic is 7ft, 260lbs, 27yrs old and was the 24th pick in 2002. Jeff Green is 6ft 9in, 235lbs, 24 years old and was the 5th pick in 2007.
The raw net result of this trade is that we are 14 inches taller, 35 lbs heavier, 1 year younger. We have also traded a 2003 27th pick and a 2005 21st pick for a 2002 24th pick, a 2007 5th pick, and a top 10 protected 2012 high first round pick.
Nate Robinson averages 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.1 blocks, and 1.4 turn overs in his career. Kendrick Perkins averages 6.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.3 steals, 1.4 blocks and 1.6 turn overs in his career. Nenad Krstic averages 10.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.7 blocks, and 1.2 turn overs. Finally, Jeff Green's career averages are 14.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 1.9 turn overs.
The net result of this trade is +6.6 points, +2.1 rebounds, -1 assist, +0.1 steal, -0.2 blocks, -0.1 turn overs. It should be noted that Green averages about 10 more minutes per game played than the other three.
Perkins was the 5th man, and Nate was the 10th man in our roster. Jeff Green was the 3rd man and Nenad Krstic was the 5th man in Oklahoma City. Perkins is also the only one with a ring and extensive playoff experience. Both Green and Krstic have play off experience but no ring.
Chemistry of both teams will change but that is a part of any NBA trade. No matter how you look at it, this deal was a steal.
