D Grand Plan..

A few days ago, celtics fans were all over Danny Ainge condemning him for shipping out one of the best defensive canters in the league and fan fave Kendrick Perkins..

After 3 trade deadline deals that sent away 5 of our players in exchange for 2 role players and some draft picks, everybody's saying DA's out of his mind and he threw away our chances at banner 18 this season. I wasn't one of those guys.

As much I loved Perk in green, there are a lot of questions about his health and his coming contract situation. He might be a vital cog in our defense and chemistry but he's not indispensable and definitely not irreplaceable.

Nate, Quis, Luke and Erden will also be missed but if you look at what we got in return:

Jeff Green - a young , talented and versatile forward; Nenad Krstic  - a serviceable center who has better range than Perk and can be as tough  on the block; a couple of 2nd round picks and a  (protected) 1st rounder..

And now off the waivers, Troy Murphy - a dependable C/F who can rebound and shoot threes; and possibly  Corey Brewer - skinny but long, athletic and very good defensively!

And in case you're forgetting, we still have the BIG FOUR! So if you'd ask me, I'm not worried about our chances at banner 18, actually, it just got way better! Of course, time will tell how soon this new unit jells together and injuries are also a concern but we just got younger, deeper, more athletic and more versatile. So who's bashing DA now?

Looking down the road, I also believe that by getting rid of our starting center, DA's paving the way in 2012 for D replacement center! I might be looking too far ahead but right now, for me Danny Ainge is a genius!
