Why Boston will beat Miami

Regular season series: Boston won 3-1

  • BOS 88, MIA 80
  • BOS 112, MIA 107
  • BOS 85, MIA 82
  • MIA 100, BOS 77

Averages:

Boston averaged 90.5 points against the Heat this year.
Miami averaged 92.5 against Boston this year (yet, Boston still won the season series)

Big three vs Big three:
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are the best scoring trio in the league, but Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will be able to defend them. Don't expect Paul Pierce and Ray Allen to have a good series offensively, but they'll be able to hold LeBron and Wade. Kevin Garnett won't let Chris Bosh go to work, but you can expect KG to dine on CB on offense because Bosh isn't a really good defender.
Advantage Boston.

Rajon Rondo:
Rajon Rondo will have a fantastic series, he should be able to toy around with Mike Bibby's dying corpse and what's the name of the guy again? I think it's Mario Chalmers, Am I wrong?
Advantage Domination Boston

Bench:
In order for Miami to even have a chance in this series, their bench has to be better than Boston's. Though, that seems like an impossible task against Nenad Krstic, Glen Davis, Von Wafer, Jeff Green, Delonte West, one of the two O'neals, Troy Murphy, Sasha Pavlovic, and ex-Heat Carlos Arroyo. Boston has a lot of options for 12th man between Murphy, Pavlovic and Arroyo (when Shaquille O'neal gets back).
Advantage Boston

Prediction: Boston's defense will strangle Miami's talented Big 3. And in the end, defense matters the most.
Celtics in 4.
