Touche... Danny Ainge... Touche... We are better off without Perk
Looking at the playoffs currently and our team performance... Thoughts of the last minute trades come to mind... And though the boys in green lost tonight... I know the presence of Kendrick Perkins would not have made a difference... To all you fans that blasted Ainge on the trade... Advantage Ainge... Perk has been lackluster on an OKC team and tonight walked away with 2pts... 6 rebounds and a not so great defensive performance against a Memphis team that put on an offensive clinic... Green... Oneal... and Kristic each had more points than Perk to take the load off of the big three.. I'll take same defensive effort... more points (Green- 9, Oneal- 9, Krstic-6) and more rebounds (combined 9 --3 each... Considering Green and Kristic came off the bench...) over Perk any day...
We are better off without Perk...
Ainge was right on the trade....
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I Know
He’s the best player in the league when it comes to ‘one on one post defense on big men that like to use their strenght’ but he’s very avarage at everything else. Rebounds ok for a center, very poor offensive skills, bricks for hands, not athletic, can’t (or refuses to) jump, poor pick and roll defender, poor help defender, poor shot blocker for a big man. But he guards Shaq and Howard better than anyone in the league.
The years of the big man are over.
Howard is the only one remaining, and even he doesn’t have the kind of dominance in the game like Shaq, Hakeem, or the Admiral did.
Maybe someday you see Bynum start to take over and make a name for himself, if he stays healthy. But the truth of the matter is this is a league now dominated by perimeter scorers, and guys like Perk who’s really only Basketball skill is to defend the post, just aren’t as useful anymore.
"Phil is obviously a good coach. You don't win that many games without being a damn good coach, ... Remember one thing: He's been very fortunate. He picks his spots. That's all I can say." - Red Auerbach
04 + 07 = 11
Guarding Howard is now irrelavent....
And Perk doesn’t negate Shaq. The big guy has fluid skills. He sees the floor, can pass better, shoot better and doesn’t have to leave the floor to dunk. Shaqs’ game is big, smart and strong…and he’s still bigger, smarter and stronger. Of course…he’s also not yet playing.
Nice gamble isnt it... The one player you gambled on to be playing that
made Perk expendable is hurt. lol
Where are you getting your stats from?
Green… Oneal… and Kristic each had more points than Perk to take the load off of the big three.. I’ll take same defensive effort… more points (Green- 9, Oneal- 9, Krstic-6) and more rebounds (combined 9 —3 each… Considering Green and Kristic came off the bench…) over Perk any day…
Krstic had 0 points and 2 rebounds (rather than 6 and 3), and Green had 0 rebounds (rather than 3).
All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino
One thing is certain
Perk would be averaging 10 boards right about now and not be putting eggs across the stat sheet!
Yes and Chris Bosh at times. Believe it or not, silently Joel Anthony impacted game
2. Offensive rebounds, blocks, toughness……Sound familiar? Isnt that what Perk brought..
Right trade for the future, but...
Agree, but only if we say “future.” As for this year, these finals, better off not tuning long-standing team chemistry and power of emotion and messing with "back story, i.e. Perkins attempting to redeem his injury and Game 7 last year. It appears that one measure of the late trades is that we’re conceding the Finals this year for the future. Won’t know until next few years when the G.M. may look brilliant. Presently, lost luster. Still, there’s a glimmer of hope. We shouldn’t wish for failure only to prove our own prejudices.
