Trade idea - Chicago
I think this offseason we lose Big Baby. If we re-sign Green that might not be so much of an issue, but really Green needs to be playing the 3 to make him effective. I've been thinking, and if we get the right deal, we should trade Ray. He isn't getting younger, and we need to get younger. This way we can kill 3 birds with one stone as well. So I'm thinking:
Ray Allen for Taj Gibson, Omer Asik and Ronny Brewer/Kyle Korver
Roster looks like this:
Rondo - West (re-sign)
Pierce - Brewer or Korver
Green - Pierce
KG - Gibson
JO - Asik
What do you think? And who would you rather have, Brewer or Korver? Korver for me, but either would work...
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Well, I don't want to trade Ray, but it's not an awful idea.
I’d take Brewer over Korver, give me defense off the bench any day.
However, I just don’t see Chicago doing this. They’re not going to gut their entire bench (and Brewer, Asik, Gibson are very important members of that bench) for basically a one year rental of Ray Allen.
There’s no question Ray on that team would be amazing, the shots he’d get off Rose’s drive and dish would be unbelievable. But they are still a team that, even without that SG, are Championship contenders, there’s simply no reason to make this kind of a move to have Ray Allen for just one year. It’s far too short sighted, and wouldn’t make any sense for them.

bulls probably wouldnt trade asik or taj
noah and boozer are oft injured, and our defense (as you guys would know) relies heavily on our big men having active feet. I could see the bulls trading one of the two, but as much as i like ray allen, they might to just see if in his waning years he would like to play for an exception (or whatever the new cba will put out) when hes a free agent. While kyle korver might not be as good as ray allen, his youth over allen is a bit mroe advantageous.
If we give you brewer than we solve our 3pt problem but then we lose one of our best defenders. If we give you korver than its a lateral move (actually worse cuz we lose at least one big man).
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!
No Way!
Why would the Bulls ever go for a trade like that?
Let's say Deng fails in this Miami series, and the Bulls lose in 5.
The Bulls have to re-tool to compete. Their gaping hole is at the 2, and what better 2 is there available than Ray?

they're not gonna give away Asik just like that.
but this is not a bad idea though. even though i want Ray to stay green until he retires. And with Taj Gibson who I believe should be starting instead of Boozer, Bulls wont do this.
