What the C's need
I'm a Blazer fan, but I got love for the Celtics, so, I'm just throwing this out there. What would Celtic fans be willing to trade for Nic Batum, I'm a huge Batum fan but I'm wondering if he is just a fan favorite (in Portland) or if other fans would want him on their team. With Pierce getting up there (age) along with Garnett and Allen, I think that Batum would be great at the 3 once Pierce hangs it up.
Another player that I think that Celtics should go after is Monta Ellis, he would give the C's youth, speed and a strong scorer. If Ellis would be too expensive to go after, Marcus Thorton is a FA and a very underrated scorer with speed.
To top it off, Celtics should go after Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, Kwame Brown, (gimme hell over putting down Kwame Brown, but he did turn it up a bit when he got the starting spot towards the end of the season, plus he'd be cheap) or Josh McRoberts (McRoberts doesnt scream contender, but if the C's lose Big Baby, they will need a big to rebound and get some easy points)
That would help the Celtics with youth and would still keep them in contention, much like the way the Spurs have been doing it the past 10 seasons, veterans and speedy youths.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Batum
jeeze if portland wants to get rid of the guy I would listen. It would probably be Ray Allen for Batum and peice if it were to happen(although a S&T with either Baby or J.Green may work as well str8 up). I know the Blazers get calls on this guy all the time. I know Roy probably only has a year or two left considering his knee. I just dont see the Blazers letting him go, they couldn’t let go of Oden and he hasnt done anywhere near as much as Batum. As for Monta, no, no way, no how. We have no need of a high volume scorer(see carmelo). Great when hot but death knell to the games there cold. All the bigs you mentioned I would like to have on the team but most would be too expensive. The only one I can see is McRoberts and only if the big one dosent get signed. McRoberts is a descent shooter to streach the floor, he is athletic and has good upside. Batum is going to be a good one the only question is when will the lightbulb go off.
Jeffrey M Melhorn
The Truth is..
..we have Jeff Green.. He’s taking over when Pierce hangs it up. thanks anyway, nice article.
We need youth.....
But Batum isn’t what we need. Jeff Green is young and plays the same position. Being a warriors fan aswell I don’t want to see him leave the bay area but if he has to go somewhere I want it to be Boston. awe need to try and trade for a good centre

Monta is a ball hog, I think.
the guy is flashy, but he’s what Carmelo was for the Nuggets, despite looking so good, he was in the middle of a numbe 5 seed team.
Monta Ellis is a lot like Iverson..fun too watch but no one else is allowed to find an offensive rhythm while on the floor.
Both also green lighted to take any shot they like, or kinda like. How Ellis would look if he was forced to limit his shot selection? My guess is not that efficient.
I really like Batum, good energy and long…Mcroberts would be an adequate replacement for baby..Kwame, sure if he was our fourth center off the bench.
