J-Smoove
The rumors of J-Smoove getting traded to Boston, are old. But most of them included star players like: Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Two players the Celtics cant give up, if they do, they will tear up the team's core, something we can't let happend. (again). So, why not trade BBD? The Celtics are looking for a replacement for KG (when he retires) that is ATLETHIC.. last time I checked, Josh Smith was weeery atlethic. so..
A "SignAndTrade" deal for Glen Davis, and Josh Smith would help both teams, at least the C's. Its abvious that he Celtics needs to rest KG (and the other 2 of the big 3..) in the regular season. And with Josh Smith starting at the 4, Jermaine O'Neal starting at the 5. (if J.O. is healthy..) KG would be a BEAST off the bench, and also, could get minutes, and also start, at the Center position. And also, Baby at the 5 for ATL would be great, he got that mid-range jumper, and hustles a lot (he lead the NBA in charges last season.. not bad, not bad) a frontcourt with Baby, and would let Al Horford play the 4.
So, my idea is simple: Sign and trade BigBabyDavis for J-Smoove. Sign a defensive/rebounding Center with the MLE (if there will be one..) and you have a great front court looking like this:
PF Josh Smith, Kevin Garnett, JaJuan Johnson
C Jermaine O'Neal, MLE/FA, Semih Erden, D-Leaguer, (KG can also play center.. which is a great insurance, just-in-case-uknow-what)
As you may have noticed, i tossed in the name of Semih Erden. Trade the Kings 2nd round pick for him, its fair, and it would be great for both teams, Semih as the 3/4th center, would be a "just in case J.O. gets injured" player, and he knows the system.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Tho
1 there might not be a sign and trade any more
2 the money wont match at all
3 Nobody wants baby to be their starting Center
4 J-Smooth wants to come here but I don’t think Danny has any interest in him
but I’d love to have him on the team, and not saying he is better but I’d def start him over KG, I would love to see the Big 3 coming off the bench for 3 guys who are younger and good enough to legitimize making the Big 3 a second unit.
I’d love to see the big 3 come off the bench for like a J Green, J-Smooth, Nick Young combo so we can have Rondo really push the ball hard, and then we can slow it down and or end games with the big 3 while the starters run themselves ragged all season for the team. This would make us super deep as our 3 unit would be as good as a bad team’s starters Bradley, Delonte, Moore, JJ, some free agent Center. Brown* if he makes it out the D league.
the idea is good
but I think this trade will affect our cap flexibility for 2012
sure
If it was that easy, then everybody would, but the problem is, the contract doesnt match…JSmoove makes like 13 mil, BBD make 4-5-6 mil???? not to mention ATL mention they want either Ray Ray or KG
so if its Ray, then the contract matches but 2 for 1, will kill our cap space for 2012 for Dwight…
if its KG, then Atl needs to give us something back cuz KG makes 18 mil…
but yeh and IM sure ATL isnt interested in BBD
be honest
if this was the hawks blog would we be talking about trying to trade josh smith for glen davis? the hawks would seriously laugh out loud if danny sent that proposal.
we might as well trade von wafer for carmelo anthony while were at it…

Don't be ridiculous!
Wafer for Carmelo PLUS Amare’ or no deal!
NBA Officiating - Corrupt? Incompetent? Which is worse? Does it matter? It sucks.
but
the idea of bringing the big 3 off the bench is actually pretty well thought out. i think seph is on to something
that means Joneal would come off the bench though too. you couldnt have him out there slowing down rondo, jeff, and whoever they pick up. danny’s got a loooooong offseason ahead of him

I want Smith here but...
BBD makes 5 mil a year and Smith makes 13 mil…we would have to trade Ray or trade a lot of youth and draft picks for him. Besides why would you trade Josh Smith, a good scoring and defender for a selfish and bad center in Davis?
