Will: Sam, we cant take it anymore. Can you share the trade rumors?
Sam Amico: Also, the Lakers reportedly are trying to find a way to land Paul Pierce. Not sure yet, what they are willing to give up. But again, it won't be an easy deal to make. The Celtics love him, obviously.

I love it
That might be the one trade you could make that would actually make BOTH teams worse. Am I right?

personally
I think all of these rumors involving Pierce are fictitious. Anything Ainge does has to be signed off by Wyc. I don’t see that happening.
Even though I do believe we might very likely come to a point this season where it makes perfect sense to see what you can get for anyone on the roster even I believe it is too early to give up on this season and don’t believe AInge has had any discussions involving Pierce.
In this 24 hour new cycle we live in people need to get attention, to be heard. They look around the league and see which teams are struggling, just to conclusions and then report them as news.
Won't Happen
Danny’s head would be on a pike outside the Garden if he ever traded the Celtics captain to the Lakers — the rest of him would be put through an industrial wood chipper if it led to a Laker title.
I wouldn't have a problem trading Pierce
But If we trading him to the Lakers….I will never spend a dime on the Celtics ever again.
My Twitter @totheights
Trade him. It seems thats what everyone wants anyway. While we are at it might as well send ray and kg there too. At least they will be wanted here in LA.

Ouch
Only if it´s part of a 3-way to get Dwight.
Scratch that, even that is not enough. Trading him is one thing, but seeing him play and maybe even win a title for the Lakers would be too much.
Pierce for Kobe
That is the only trade Ainge would make, reportedly Kobe wanted to be traded after the Odum trade
you must mean Pierce and Allen for Kobe then
to make the salaries work. Also WAIT WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

Horrible
Regardless of what they offer you can’t trade Pierce to the Lakers.
LOL - that is re-donkulous! 'Mazing.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt? Incompetent? Which is worse? Does it matter? It sucks.
Lol - genius!
Get it done Danny!
In all seriousness, the Pierce rumors are really depressing.

Looking at that trade...
is just so wrong.
What bugs me is Hollinger thinks the our big 4 would cost the Lakers 4 projected wins…please.
For Kicks...
Howard, Walton, and Barnes to Boston
Pierce, O’Neal, Ryan Anderson to LA
Bynum, Ray Allen to Orlando
Should I phone it into WEEI?
Barnes, Howard, Dooling, Bass, Pietrus...
I feel like I’ve seen this somewhere before…

Amico is legit....
was the Kings beat writer for a while and then a wandering, writing NBA nomad for a while – with his own website, I believe.
Now doing Sports Illustrated and they don’t hire people without substance (that I can think of).
Kind enough to give me his take on Mikki Moore when we got him a few years ago.
haven’t seen him prone to throw stuff out there without some basis.

Also....
just ‘cause LA is asking doesn’t mean anything really.

So last year the Lakers ‘reportedly’ were in the mix for Melo, now they’re ‘reportedly’ after Pierce. Are they secretly trying to trade for every scoring wingman in the league? What are they doing??

I hope if Pierce is traded...
its to “anyone” but the Lakers.
But Pierce for Bynum (if he is healthy finally) would be a interesting trade I think if it can be worked out as Bynum is one of the elite centers in the NBA and is still young.
Also Pierce grew up in LA, was a big Laker fan and hated the 80 Celtic teams including Ainge so you never know…lol
The Lakers don't have anyone to trade for is the problem
Outside of Kobe, Pau Gasol and Bynum, the Lakers have absolutely nothing to offer. They’re not trading Kobe. I doubt they’d offer Gasol or Bynum, both because they wouldn’t want to for Pierce and because those two represent their only trading chips to potentially acquire Dwight Howard.
The only players they could offer the Celtics otherwise would be laughable. Perhaps a sweet package consisting of Luke Walton, Josh McRoberts, Troy Murphy, Matt Barnes.
These deal is not happening.
Perkins to the Thunder was bad...
Trading Perk to a neutral team was bad enough.
But PIERCE to the LAKERS? That’s a nightmare. The fans might riot. The Lakers make me sick as it is. Ownership and management must know a trade involving this particular set of circumstances is nothing less than a personal insult to the Boston fans who fill up the seats, cheer hard and support this team.
Did anybody read the quote?
Lakers are trying to land Pierce. That’s what it said. They are also trying to land Howard, Paul, and Genghis Khan. Doesn’t mean they will.
