Paul Pierce trade
Hi guys, am new here at this site. I didn't know there was one until yesterday. Been a celtic fan since the original bird era.
anyway, saw the fanpost below earlier. how credible is the story? please be gentle. thanks.
"Apparently its being "reported" that there's a potential trade in the works for Pierce. The trade would have Pierce heading to the Pacers for Paul George, Louis Amundson, and a draft pick. I have no idea how valid this since I see no one else reporting it but the trades interesting.
Here's the link...

Would you do it? Its actually not half bad for 34 year old pierce. You get a young proven shooter with potential in George , a center presence with Amundson, and an additional pick (though not specified 1st or 2nd round) for a loaded draft we already have 3 picks for...
It would be a good rebuilding move and we would get young talent. So if this is real, do you think DA does this? Would you do it?"
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

not so sure
because paul george is extremely young and we do not know if he will reach his potential. pierce is too good of a player to let him go for somebody just based on potential. we can do better. if i’m trading pierce it’ll be for obvious talent like granger, rudy gay, or joe johnson.. no one else would be worth it.
Cannot Believe I'm Saying This...But That Would Be AWESOME!
Paul George is super athletic and next year we would have an amazing fast break team. Rondo at PG, George at SG, and Green at SF.
Good example of what Ainge will be looking at
Interesting to see the history of the two Pacers relative to Ainge. Ainge always liked Jeff green and here he is.
This is the kind of deal he can get. He gets younger, but, he does not free up cap space as George has a big contract. I don’t see much value in picks below maybe number 11 or 12. Supposedly a good draft. Second round they all become long shots and the Celtics already have a couple of pix in 2012.
Rondo, George, Jeff Green and maybe Allen as 6th man + another max guy in FA for 2012? Any shot against the the Heat or the Thunder? Maybe not, but, what else can Ainge do?
He can’t do anything just for the sake of doing something, but, Rondo needs some teammates who can actually run. George + Green might be a good option?

Wilson Chandler would be in place of Chris Anderson but he is in China until March so I can’t plug him in.
Not sure how I feel towards this.
Am I the only person that thinks Ainge will NOT move Pierce?

No, you are not the only person that thinks Ainge will NOT move Pierce.
I would not say the chance of Pierce being traded is zero. But it’s probably pretty damn close to zero.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt? Incompetent? Which is worse? Does it matter? It sucks.
We are stuck with Pierce
The dumb moves of Danny are destroying us! Tony Allen sucked but just as he was becoming a better player we dumped him?!?! PERK was a hope for our future and Danny made him cry. Even Nate was a good high energy back up. We keep throwing away the building blocks and the big 3 Veteran leadership is coming off the books anyway. If this season gets worse they will be begging Danny for a trade. I can tell KG is disgusted.

We did not 'dump' Tony Allen. He chose to leave.
Tony wanted starter minutes. He was not going to get those on a team with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen on it.
The only way you can ‘blame’ the Celtics for Tony leaving is if you believe Tony Allen should have been starting for us over one of those two last year.

I think we should send Allen to Indiana
I think with him at the two indiana would be a title contender

either paul george or
hibbert signed to an extension. we would probably send the clippers and out second round pick with allen to sweeten the deal

Well what do you think
Would be a fair trade for the best three point shooter of all time and probably the missing piece to a title for Indiana

I don't think Pierce is a mentor
Amazing player. Not a mentor. Even though Paul is the Captain I haven’t perceived him as the mentor type throughout his career. The fake head/jaw bandage being just one example of many.
Pierce...
has a no trade clause. If he were to waive it, he would have to go to a team that has a high potential of making the finals. I am not sure he would go to the Pacers even though they show some promise. Pierce going to a team like the Clippers would raise their bar, especially if they go hard after Howard. Not to mention LA is Paul’s old stomping grounds. I am not sure who could be swapped in the deal, but that scenario seems more likely.
Now that said, Doc has been resigned for 5 more years. That in itself tells me they will be going into a rebuilding mode and they will more then likely build around Rondo. There will be some “for the moment” key trades soon. The Who and Where questions will be answered in just a matter time. My question are, will they be a jump shooting team or a team looking to have an inside presence? Or, will they build up a run and gun team where I think is more of a Rondo style of ball?
