Just a view here. Ray is the only player who showed up really ready to play this year. As is true with any outside shooter, he is a bit streaky, but, remains one of the best in the league. He does have trade value for this reason but, Ainge might be considering keeping Ray to match up with the younger team he is planning for next year. Ray is not a sixth man type...is he? What if he comes off the bench and starts to rain 3's? Well you know...most of the time.
My guess is Ray's work ethic and connections in Boston might keep him here for a few dollars less for 2012. Any legit contender with the cap space wants Ray Ray to win two or three playoff games with his 3's, but Danny needs to keep some veteran presence for next year....doesn't he?
