Blow it up, but start with Doc
It is clear at this point that the Celtics will not be hanging #18 this season, so we must look to the future. I certainly do not see another version of the Big 3 coming through the doors anytime soon. Therefore we must look first to a coah that can develop young talent that we are going to rely on to get the Celtics back on track. Doc is not that guy. His success has been heavily tied to the Big 3 and he has relied exclusively on them. When we hung Banner 17 it was clear to me that the victory over the Lakers was partly due to adjustments forced on Doc because of injuries and foul trouble. There were no great unforced moves by Doc. In other words, he was lucky to defeat Phil Jackson to get #17. That is why I believe that going forward the Celtics must part ways with Doc. Any doubt about this was erased tonight with the somewhat solid play of Avery Bradley. He was forced into service and he, by all accounts I have read, played well. Perhaps if Doc had played him more he would have developed into an NBA player by now. We need a coach that will develop young players, magic in the form of another Big 3 is not about to him Boston anytime soon.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

He will change as team goals change
It will be all about the young guys very soon. Then we will all be begging for some veteran help:)
Agree...
That’s why they signed Doc for another 5 years. The veteran help we will need will be in the form of mentors coming off the bench. I believe this team is moving in a direction to be torn down to the ground and then rebuild with Rondo as the foundation. This team will be rebuilding and growing for at least 3 to 4 years to find a regular starting lineup. Then it is a matter of consistency and experience playing together. This is based on if the C’s are truly in a youth movement youth movement.
I agree FIRE DOC
I can’t stand Doc Rivers, most overrated coach maybe in NBA history.. the team doesn’t listen to him and im tired of his old one liners… “I know you want to win, but we gotta do it together!!!”….. i also wonder how invested he is in coaching, he was pretty close to retiring to watch his son play college hoops or whatever and spend more time with his kids, then out of nowhere a five year deal….as I have said in other posts, the 2008 championship team to me was stacked and i think Tom Thibideou had more to do with that team’s success (along with Ainge’s moves)..I"m also sick of how Doc kisses up to the Media… (and vice versa)
Unfortunately, Ainge is never going to fire Doc unilaterally because they are sort of butt buddies.. the owner needs to come in and force Ainge to fire Doc, the problem is who would replace him, not sure if there are many good candidates out there…

I agree also, FIRE DOC ASAP
i heard that jerry sloan is contemplating on coming back to coach, i think he is a good fit to this team and he is not like doc who say so many good things to his rookies but never plays them…if we our going to rebuild this team, LETS START BY REMOVING DOC!!!!

I also agree FIRE DOC
LETS START BY REMOVING DOC and AINGE !!!
Wyc owns the team and he is going with Ainge who just signed Rivers
I agree that Rivers doesn’t play the bench….ever.
Ainge will rebuild with Rivers because he has the name and management continuity that will help attract the superstar they need…whenever that will be.
Doc's winning percentage before the big 3 was horrible...
…so there’s good evidence to support your argument. Doc is a veteran’s team coach. Personally I wished the Celtics had kept Thibodeau and let Doc go. It will take awhile for the young plays to mature offensively but in the meantime they can hang in games with Tom’s defensive schemes especially with young legs like Bradley and JJ. But that opportunity is gone now so I don’t know where the Celtics go from here but I’m not confident of Doc’s ability to bring along a young squad. He uses the veterans too much as a security blanket and whatever veterans are left after this year will still see big minutes.
