Ray Allen Out With "Jammed" Ankle
If there's one thing this team doesn't need is injuries. Unfortunately, sometimes you just can't avoid them.
Ray Allen has a jammed left ankle and it is uncertain whether he will return #celtics
Ray Allen will not return today with a jammed left ankle #celtics
Allen had double ankle surgery in 2006-07 that cost him the final 27 games of the season. Hasn't had any ankle trouble since them #celtics
Obviously Ray's effectiveness is predicated upon being able to run and get lift off his feet. He's bee the most consistently good player on the Celtics this year, so losing him for any stretch wouldn't be a good thing.
Rajon Rondo is still day to day and Keyon Dooling still isn't back in the lineup, so expect to see some more of rookie E'Twaun Moore and today's starter Avery Bradley (who has looked solid the last few games)
Update: Twitter / @gwashburn14
Ray allen said there's no swelling. Just tightness. X-ray negative. Will try to play tomorrow #Celtics

thats ok
as long as we have Paul Pierce tonight we should win
We won an ugly game in spite of ourselves. The captain, Bass and Pietrus shot well.
Garnett came to life just in time- finished strong. A win is a win is a win.

And very good to see some life out of Pierce and even KG--
—especially if Danny’s trying to trade them.
