Lets assume that D Howard or any major impact player is not coming here. The two choices are now to 1. fully rebuild 2. stockpile younger, but more established trade and FA pieces to go with one or two of the big three. If we choose option 1, we should trade Rondo and collect a bunch of draftpicks. You can't surround rondo with a bunch of inexperience draftees- he will start to decline by trhe time we develop the young talent. So lets assume we go for option 2. There are some nice players out there that we should consider signing or trading for. They are not franchise players, but they could be great (lower cost) "stockpile" players-- in that they could provide talent for future trades (see big three --but i think the right combo would still be very competitive. Look at Denver's success after trading Carmelo. They had several talented (not star) players that really played well- and they were fun to watch. We could do this too.
Pick AT LEAST one from each category.
Guards: OJ Mayo, JR smith, Wilson Chandler, Wesley Johnson, Paul George, Nick Young
Forwards: Jason Thompson, Maurice Speights, Michael Beasly, Paul Milsap
Center: A. Mosgov, Roy Hibbert, J Magee
All of these players (athletic) could compliment Rondo's game. Combine them with these players who should return from current team:
Rondo, Pietrus, Allen OR Pierce (not both), JJJ, Stiemsma (low cost/no risk)
Everyone else is open for debate- and depends upon who we can bring in. I say PP and RA could both be with us ONLY if one comes off the bench, AND we sign two of the guards listed above so we have another creator on the floor with Rondo. Draft Rivers or PG, and a big, and we could be entertaining and pretty decent.
Bass/KG/ Bradley/RA/Wilcox/Moore/Dooling might be used in trade. Cut Daniels/Pavlovich.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.
