Rondo & 4 1st Rounders for D12, NOW
Celtics Trade Rondo, Jermaine Oneal, 2013 1st Round Pick, 2014 1st Round Pick, 2015 1st Round Pick, 2016 1st Round Pick
Orlando trades Dwight Howard
Immediate starting Lineup: Bradley, Allen, Pierce, KG, Howard.
Promising Players Longer-Term: Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Dwight Howard
This would assume that Dwight Howard would sign a contract extension. This would give you an immediate chance at another championship. If KG and Allen resigned with significant paycuts and Jeff Green just resigned, we'd have more years of championship runs and have a smooth transition into the next era of Celtics basketball.
Thoughts?
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

You can't trade 1st rounders in back to back years.
Not to mention you’d be crippling the team’s chances at rebuilding for five years, especially if Dwight decides he wants to leave. Learn more about the sport before you start making ridiculous trade ideas.
NO
Howard is probably as good as he is going to get- and you saw last night that he can be up and down. When you committ that much to one person… he is one injury away from us being a bad team. Huge guys like him will wear down faster- and come back slower. We may be better in the very short term, but I would much rather get more athletic with smaller deals / FA / draft. I have never been a big DH fan so i might be wrong.
+100000000
howard may be the best center in the league now-a-days, but he is not THAT great. let dwight go else where.

No Way
KY is right – can’t trade back to back 1st rounders. These irrational, pipe dream clown trades are getting annoying.
Didn’t realize you couldn’t give up back to back 1st rounders. But think back to the KG trade. There was a very large group of fans who thought it was an insane trade. That we gave up too good of a player and too many draft picks. How did that trade work out? A trade close to this would give the Celts an immediate shot at a championship, and if Jeff Green and Brandon Bass remain as Celtics a solid core to continue for years on.
Here is another stab at it…
Trade: Rondo, Ray Allen, 2012 pick, 2014 pick, 2016 pick
Get: Dwight Howard, JJ Redick
Does that get anyone closer? If not, what variation would you be satisfied with?
Are you high?
If yes, give me the number of your dealer, I need some strong shit right now.
I don't follow rules, I let the rules follow me.
I’m not really against the whole trade idea but you have to think more about long term than short term. If dwight doesnt want to come to boston now, what makes you think he’ll sign an extension? If he leaves, we wouldnt have draft pick to speed up the rebuilding process, and we lose one of our main players. Not to mention the Big 3 is near retirement, Im a fan of DH, but if he comes to the celtics, i’d rather have him come through the FA assuming we will still have money to spend next FA. If not, we could just pick up key players in this FA or draft, no need to risk that much for a Center who might not even come back.
Be a fan of another team
I like Rondo more than Howard.
Howard isn’t a competitor he had a dumb smile plastered on his face while they were losing by 30.
Rondo is the real deal, Howard is a clown.
sorry, but...........
I don’t like your name and I don’t like your trade. Rondo is the heart and soul of the Celtics and as much an untouchable to me as PP.
Good Idea...
To make it more interesting, why don’t we trade our entire starting 5 for Orlando’s?
The crappy part would be losing to Orlando afterwards.
If Orlando is smart, they will try to get rid of Hedo contract.
So we are out of there’s trading partner.
1- 0% chance on trading with Orl
2- 15% chance if he hits free agency.
I wouldn’t trade Rondo for Howard straight up unless we could get a decent point guard somehow; I don’t trust Bradley to start just yet.
we could draft a pg
or add oneal and nelson to the deal
