Would we do this??
If you were Danny, would you make this deal along with our 2 fisrt rounders in this upcoming draft? Atlanta may be interested in this deal because of the draft picks + 2 expiring contracts with JO, and Dooling. Going forward i dont see them extending Josh Smith for the money he will want. We will have alot of cap space but i dont feel there is a player on the free agent market to aquire with that cap space. we trade for Josh Smith then sign him long term. this will be rebuilding on the fly instead of hopiong our draft picks pan out.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

this is an alright trade
the problem is signing a guy like that to a long term contract is a bigger risk than our draft picks. if smith got hurt or just wasnt as good here we would be stuck for 4 or 5 years with his big contract. if the draft picks arent good we are only paying them 1-2 million and can leave them on the bench to get better.
also i dont think atlanta is looking to trade away smith, i think they would trade johnson first but they seem like playoff contenders right now so i dont see why they wouldnt wait to make this trade next year

This is one of those it could work, it depends on how they view smith. And where the celtics are in the standings. If it comes down to draft day and they have 2 picks that are in the 20 28 range than yes, smith is a better option. Then they run at Howard with smith, rondo and pierce
more in detail answer..
If horford comes back and kills it.. if the celtics can pull there heads out of there ass and play better. Atlanta may get tired of smiths attitude. And no impact player in the draft will fall past 20. So the trade would make sense for boston. And slightly for Atlanta mainly they free 12 million and add 2 picks.
I would do it...
but I doubt Atlanta would unless they really want that free cap room.
