Celtics should resign Ray and KG for less money

I think you have to rebuild, but these players can be two very important players for the team yet.

Ray Allen is playing great, with very good percentages, I think he is a decal of Reggie Miller, and may be playing to 39, and Reggie.

They are special players, Ray Allen is still now the best shooter in the league, do not forget this.

KG is true that the season has not started at a high level, which is normal with a long loockout this is normal and is happening to more players in the league veterans.

KG is still the leader of the Celtics, the spirit and continues to play with a great passion, when the season progresses, he will take the form, as well as PP.

If they want to resign for less money, Ainge should renew them and then they retire in Boston. I'd hate to see Ray, KG or PP with another jersey, this should not happen.

I do not know if KG will retire, he can still play at least one year at a high level, making a full training camp, this is the reason why Garnett is low in shape.

Vs Wizards and Magic he has played better.

I still think Ainge should bring players to help the Big Three this summer:

- JaVale McGee
- Jamison
- Kaman
- A. Randolph
- And more...

My dream is Big Al Jefferson, but I do not know, I do not know if Utah wants to trade him now, but when left as a free agent.

In summer there will be money, JO contracts, Sheed and Shaq, and if Ray and KG resign for less money, Celtics still have enough money to bring good players and make a great roster.

Karl Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Reggie...

Perhaps Did not these players give good results in spite of his age? the same thing happens with Ray and KG.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

this would seem like a deal where ray allen and KG do us a favor by turning down more money elsewhere and come back just to do us a favor.
While i do think they are loyal to the celtics, i dont think KG takes the minimum over 5-10 million next year in say sacramento where he would bring people to the games and maybe help that team grow up or a contender with cap room looking for a defensive 4 with experience to come off the bench. As for ray allen, he could definately get more money from a contender looking for an awesome shooter off the bench but he might stay because his wife is having a baby and he doesnt want to move. we will see though

You are reasonable

and probably correct. KG and Ray will almost definitely come back next year for less money, the question is how much less.

Ray Allen
I’ve argued elsewhere that Ray will get something similar to Reggie Miller’s last contract. He signed for a team-friendly amount last time and I think he probably will again. I’m estimateing 3 years, $17 million.

Kevin Garnett
He will be 36. He is still a very effective shooter and defender. We will have a better idea what to expect when the Spurs resign Tim Duncan, but for now we can probably use Steve Nash ($11 M/yr at age 35) and Jason Kidd ($8 M/yr at age 36) as reasonable comps. I’d estimate 2 years, 20 million.

That means that the amount of salary actually coming off the books next year for these two players is about 14 million.

If anyone pays Javale McGee more than $9 M a year, they are crazy, because that guy is not a good basketball player. He’s AMAZING, but he’s not good. There’s a huge difference.

McGee is above average, but not terribly good. Decent scorer/rebounder … can’t shoot free throws (worse than Dwight!), no long range game, and is a horrible passer. Blocking is the one thing he really excels at … but if you watch him play, it is obvious they are that high because he routinely gives up defensive assignments to go for the block. Which gives him a good stat line, but is a predictable move, and he often leaves his man open (which is why his defensive metrics aren’t stellar)

Ray Allen

wants $20M in 2 years most like KG will also want that kind of contract leaving us no room to sign a max contract player.
