Howard Open To Signing With Celtics

Dwight Howard might be interested in signing with the Celtics this summer.

“Always. Always,” Howard said. “I’d always listen to a team like that.”

Howard said his primary goal is to win a championship.

“My thing is I want to win,” Howard said. “It’s not something like I’m doing this for money. I win. I want to do it my way.

“The first thing is basketball. I want to win a championship, and it takes a certain type of team to win a championship. You know, there’s a lot of teams who are great during the regular season. They play well, but it’s different once you play in those playoffs, you know? It’s gut-check time.

“Like I told the Magic, I just want to win. I don’t want a team that doesn’t know how you have to win in the playoffs. I want a team that’s going to go out every night and forget about stats, forget about who scores the most points or who is the fan favorite. Just go out and play, play for each other and play to win. That’s the only thing.”

But for a Championship team we need a scorer that can create his own shot. But we are gona be close to that.

if ainge signs eric gordon this offseason

that would be enough i think to convince dwight that the celtics mean business. also, resign jeff green and bring back ray and kg, and dwight will c a championship caliber roster

Maybe KG and Allen sign for dirt cheap in hopes to get one last title shot. Bring in Gordon, howard, keep Green and Rondo!

Never been a Howard fan, but the easiest thing to do would be to sign him and add a creator. A bunch of standing three point shooters surrounds Howard already- as you saw the inability for anyone to drive consistently vs us last time we played. Can’t underscore the impotance of knowing what value/talent we have with bradley/ JJJ and Stiemsma. If you add Green- where does Pietrus fit. Do we have room for all of big three? If so, a howard injury would put it back to where we are now (1 year older). Must get some athletes, at the expense of loyalty / conscience. Howard alone won’t do it.
