A PG combo of Pierce+Bradley+Moore > Rondo? If we can get a quality big man for him I say DO IT!
I think we can be ok with a PG combo of Pierce+Bradley+Moore...I really do. Pierce and Moore are scoring powers and Bradley is so shut-down, right now...it's almost Rondo'esque. I think Bass and Pietrus can spell both Allen and Pierce, so that leaves a big to give Garnett and JO a rest.
Now, what big can we get for Rondo? If you can't do a CP3 for Rondo straight up, I would think someone would unload a big for a top 6-7 PG...right?
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Rondo for Al Jefferson
Can this happen? Rondo for Al Jefferson, straight-up?
i like this idea
but the point was to get a good center and use the guys we have in a rotation at the point

trade with detroit
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=72lv48b
we take gordons crappy contract and get a young talented center
they get lost of cap room, bass, and a project in bradley
they might say no unless we send some picks but if it happened this would be awesome

Uhm..
Detroit already has Brandon Knight and Stuckey as their PGs, both of whom are still learning and growing. I don’t think they’d want another “project” in Bradley. And Monroe has more upside than all of those players put together.
i forgot about knight
i still think we need to trade rondo for a young center though

rondo is an awesome player
and so much fun to watch but that doesnt mean that there isnt a trade out there that makes us better and right now i think we have a huge hole at center so if we could get a good center, the amount we gain over oneal/ steamer is more than what we lose in the drop from rondo to pierce/moore/bradley imo

that true as well
im just saying its possible

no player is untradable
but the point of the youtube video is that people are forgetting how good he is and that pierce bradley and moore dont make rondo expendable at all.
definitely.
I can’t believe how up & down reactionary people are.
I love what the team has done these last couple of games. But man, we need Ray and Rondo in a big way for the long hall.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt? Incompetent? Which is worse? Does it matter? It sucks.
You guys are fools
To want to trade Rondo is suicide. Avery Bradley is a great defender, and still isn’t as good on defense as Rondo. His offense is among the worst in the league for point guards.
All we need is a legit center.
We should trade Jermaine and change for Kaman.
do you think the hornets would do that though?
because i doubt it. they both have expiring contracts so wouldnt they rather have kaman?
by JuJuan some moore on Jan 27, 2012 11:57 AM EST up reply actions
We could give them dooling and wilcox and then it would be the same thing.
On one hand they would do it because they would want to free Kaman because they told him they werent going to play him much recently to develop the younger guys.
On the other they might have to cut too many guys to fill those roster spots.
We could sweeten the deal with picks tho.
kaman
while i think kaman would make us a serious contender, he i a rental gun for hire who if he has a team he really wants to go to, hes gonna go there. because of that he is expensive for a half year rental for us (because we would lose him at the end of the year) but if he wants to be a Celtic over all other teams then we wait until free agency after this year and sign him then because we dont have to give anything up for him.
i think we should draw the line at giving up draft picks

bradley
he cant play pg he cant even run the offense, he cant dribble shoot or pass, moore had 1 good game. thats nonsense. we cant win with any of the two running the show. moore aint no pg hes a shooting guard. bradley cant stop the top pg look what wall did to him and rose. this is a ridiculous post. bradley is useless if he cant pressure the ball. hes over rated nba player.
rondo
im not giving him up for none of those guys and im sure doc would retire if danny said lets go with bradley at pg. hes the worst pg in the league, hes one dimentional player. he cant even dribble and look up, this is hilarious. he slowed down jameer nelson and an old nash somewhat, look what happened last night when he couldn’t pressure the ball. he looked like the fool player he is. bradley is not an nba player in my book. they dont even guard thatfool on the court, hes in his second yr and looks worst then rookies. the only reason pierce is playying pg is because he sucks get a back up pg and trade that bum. my opinion on bradley
Paul Pierce can play “point”, not point guard mind you, but he can run the offense. But doing so is very taxing on his body and eventually it’ll add up even if he gets more in shape.
The Celtics need to spread the offensive load on that team out as much as possible among the Big Four. Getting a big man won’t solve our problems. What needs to happen is the rotations have to be tighter, the last two games against the Magic were encouraging, and they need to clean the defensive glass better.
Of course, the offense is a weakness but it’s kinda impossible to fix at this point.
dream offense
i think our best offense will come with pierce starting the offense at the top of the key with moore and allen on both wings waiting for a kick out. pierce can drive to either side and if the D collapses he kicks it to an open allen or moore for 3 or pierce can take it to the paint and get a pick from garnett or bass who then roll off and either have an open jumper if the D switched or pierce is close to the basket with a smaller (usually) defender and he can put up a contested layup or dribble behind the basket and kick to the shooter on the other side to either shoot or reset the offense

we dont need transition offense
with a super efficient half court offense we dont have to run with people we just have to execute and then they dont get transition offense and we can set up our half court defense

Rondo is our best player why would we get rid of him? He is a top 5 pg and the #1 defender at his position. He is tough and gritty and is a triple double machine. I would be devastated if he left, much more so then when Perkins left. A pass first point guard is so hard to find and he has roots here, why do anything to change that? Because of two games against Orlando?
i like rondo as well and if i was gm i wouldnt trade him for very many players but if offered a top 10 center for rondo i think we do it because i think that makes us a title contender again this year

SACRAMENTO NEED A PG AND A LEADER!!!
Tyreke or Jimmer + Thompson + Thomas for Rondo, Jajuan, Bradley and 1 draft pick
BOOO! HISSSSS!
Man that just sounds like an awful, awful deal.

I don't like the idea of getting rid of JO
I realize that he’s far from the ideal center, but the fact is that we need ANOTHER body, in addition to the ones we have; to get another big, no matter how good, at the expense of losing JO doesn’t add up. Let’s say we somehow get Kaman but lose JO, but then Kaman gets hurt … then we’re worse off than we are now. It’s a numbers game; if we can get another solid vet big man WITHOUT losing JO (whom I think would be a great backup), great. Otherwise, no dice.

Having Pierce play point forward alongside Bradley or E'twuan is not a long term solution
It’s worked these past few games but this arrangement requires Pierce to play extended minutes and take over every game. It’s not a sustainable situation. E’twuan and Bradley will not develop into starting point guards before Pierce gets completely worn out or injured.
Also, this season we’ve only seen Rondo play with a Paul Pierce who is out of shape and hasn’t found his rhythm yet. It would be a mistake to assume that when Rondo comes back Pierce will turn back into the player he was for the first few games of this season coming back from that heel injury, a step slow and missing lay ups.
The good news is that when Rondo gets back we’ll see the Rondo we’ve seen so far this season playing alongside the Pierce we’ve seen the past few games.
