No Rondo, JO Should Go Against Cavs
CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely just gave the Twitter world some insight into the Celtics lineup tonight. Looks like there will be no Rajon Rondo again tonight, and according to his tweet, Jermaine O'Neal will try and play tonight.
Rondo has been out since he injured his wrist against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 18. The Celtics are 4-2 without Rondo in the lineup.
#Celtics Doc Rivers says no Rondo tonight. JO will give it a go.

Here is some more information of the Celtics shootaround courtesy of the Boston Herald Celtics Blog.
Jermaine O’Neal will play tonight against the Cavaliers. The Celtic center has been out a week since bruising his left knee taking a charge from Orlando’s Hedo Turkoglu. … Doc Rivers said moments ago at the Celts’ morning shootaround here that Rajon Rondo will remain out with a sprained right wrist. But he added the point guard could be back tomorrow against Toronto or Friday agaist New York.

We won't see Rondo until mid-February
Remember though, the night he was injured, Dr. Ainge the con man said Rondo was fine.
excuse my ignorance
How is it Rondo can play through a dislocated elbow, but can’t play on a sprained wrist? Strange, but I think Rondo might have the same wrist injury Kobe and Deng are currently dealing with.
Its a long (despite shorter) and intense season
gotta skip the idea of risking worse injury
at least im trying to optimistic thinking that way.
A nasty alternative to why he's not playing
Doing my Devil’s Advocate’s job: Suppose a trade has been in negotiations since his injury? And they don’t want him getting hurt? Think AKA Kaman.
I'm not the Devil's Advocate but I consiider him a close friend
Kaman?
I don’t believe Rondo would be in a trade for him. It would have to be something bigger and better than that. Wild theory though.
But
1. Given that they’ve seen what the team can do in absence of RR and
2. They might be looking at the orlando situation alot closer now then
they could be holding RR back in case of a trade
You really think
Rondo would net us Howard? Come on, man…
Go Pats. Celtics. Red Sox. Bruins.
Brady. Pierce. Thomas. How you doing?
It's just a thought, I'm not saying it will be RR for DH
Again, your comment has no point as usual
RR + JO matches salary
Add in a first round draft pick to sweeten.
Then, use our cap space to sign D-Will to a max in the summer.
I don’t really want to do that. But that deal ‘works’.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt? Incompetent? Which is worse? Does it matter? It sucks.

I like the cautious approach...
…it’s only the end of January, we need Rondo healthy for the postseason. I’ll live with Bradley and Moore. The offense is running fine through PP anyway. I don’t understand why fans want Rondo rushed back when clearly his wrist isn’t healing as fast as they anticipated it would, conspiracy theorist aside.
I have been dealing with a bad wrist for years
The type of brace that I have seen Rondo wearing at games is a good sign I think. It still allows for slight movement. If it was more serious I think you would see him wearing a big, bulky, hard plastic imobilizing brace. Its the regular season, and they are going to rest his wrist untill its probably closer to 100%. I’m not a doctor but I would say its a grade 1 sprain, and that can take anywhere from 2 to 10 weeks to heal. If its not 100% and he hand checks a guy he is going to be in a world of pain. You cant put a return date on anyone with a sprained wrist it really is day to day and you cant determine if its going to be 14 days or 50. A sprain just isnt as simple as it sounds.
Hmmm
“But he added the point guard could be back tomorrow against Toronto or Friday agaist New York.”
I am not buying that bs again…he will be out till end of February, or done for the remainder of season…I’ll buy those!
Oh yay
Back to the pre-win streak starters. As feared.
