Celtics youth not always served - BostonHerald.com
Even with those high standards, the Celtics alarmingly have been unable to develop a young contributor since the team’s championship season, which is now four years in the rearview. A combination of factors, some unavoidable, has worked against the Celtics. By virtue of their regular-season success, the C’s have drafted late in the first round. Additionally, they didn’t have a first-round selection in 2009 as a result of the two picks they sent to Minnesota to acquire Garnett. Obviously, no one laments that tradeoff.

this is going to
all change next year when we get to draft in the top 10 thanks to the draft we recieved from the thunders which orginally belongs to the clippers.
the pick will difently help us in a deep draft.
Sorry to say this...
But that draft pick is top 10 protected…
“The Los Angeles Clippers’ own 2012 first round draft pick to Boston via Oklahoma City (top 10 protected in the 2012 draft, top 10 protected in 2013, top 10 protected in 2014, top 10 protected in 2015 and unprotected in the 2016 Draft). In addition, if the Los Angeles Clippers are required to send their 2012 first round pick pursuant to the above and are also entitled to receive Minnesota’s own 2012 first round draft, then Boston via Oklahoma City shall receive the lesser of the Los Angeles Clippers’ own 2012 first round pick and Minnesota’s own 2012 first round pick. [L.A. Clippers -Oklahoma City, 6/24/2010 and then Boston – Oklahoma City, 2/24/2011]”
Until 2016, we can’t have it in the top 10, bummer.

seriously?!
unbelievable, i really thought we had a good chance of landing a top rookie next year.
Yeah...
It would have been nice.
Plus I don’t know if the Clippers will have a top 10 pick anyway. They are in a narrow lead of their division at the moment. With Griffin and CP3, we might end up getting to use their first round pick next year after all…somewhere between 11-20 hopefully. But maybe/probably even worse.
Let’s see if Danny can draft a guy and then have everybody hate on him later when the guy isn’t an immediate stud, odds are like 95%.

Rivers doesn't play rookies unless absolutely necessary.
There was a thread wondering why Brooks was traded after his production with the Nets through the first few games.
The reality is that Brooks would be seeing about the same amount of court time with us that the Johnson and Moore have.
